Just got back from Lunch, Town just seems to be FULL of Antwerp fans, local pub is the Portwall Tavern and although small, we couldn't get it because it was full of them and there must have been 20 or so sat outside in the sun in the street (dodgy looking lot too) walking from there down to the Waterfront, just kept seeing group after group of them......

Most of which enjoying an all day drink up..........should make for an interesting evening? anyone bedminster based seen much of the same?

I can see the Portwall Tavern from the other end of the office, seems to be all very tame at the moment and mainly just "lads antics" which we are all guilty of.

I'd imagine they will be heading down to towards Bemmy in the next hour or so.....

sounds like the same exact stuff you'd find from any british fans

its a nice day, first day of the harbourside festival...

they're away from home...

hope they enjoy their time with a warm welcome and no provocation

as for the little boy crying, its a little unfair to implicate "johnny foreigner"

if indeed anyone was to do so, which i expect not

ah shit i'm pissed already

Oh, the little boy crying had nothing to do with the Antwerp fans, his mum just told him he couldn't have an ice cream. how cruel in this weather!

Need to work on your geography a bit though

Tis an intentional error highlighting the EPs general poorness.

Nevermind, but i'm not doing a myoudale type excuse, i'm happy to admit my lack of skillz, in this case, it's intentional :P

Just drove through town, past the Portwall Tavern and into BS3 (not because of this thread I might add..) Thought I saw a load in red and white with flags outside that pub, there were a load of beered up ones heading into town from there too, at least I'm pretty sure they were Belgians, they didn't seem to know when to cross a road by Queens Square and were hoping I'd stop if not voluntarily then on impact with them....... :ranting:

I think the OB will be more concerned about Den Haag, if they have come across in any numbers - they have quite a reputation.

As for Antwerp, this is England, and whilst it isn't right, being in someone else's town noisily announcing yourself, is i'm afraid going to invite some aggravation.

Just had another peer out the window.....it's seem to be growing down there, probably about triple the amount of people than at lunchtime, seems to be 3 different groups of people and seems to be getting a bit rowdy,

6 Police are down there talking to people and have just escorted one person away from the group for a talking too.....it's proving to make the afternoon alot more interesting........BEATS WORKING

ahhhh, they have all been scared off by the Rain......though one of those 4x4 police cars is parked on the pavement opposite.....what's bets they don't get a parking ticket for illegally parked, however if my missus parks there for 10mins to pick me up later she gets asked to move on

Avon and Somerset constabulary better get the fire brigade out with the hoses then judging from that video...is the EE open?

normally our boys behave theirselves. they just go over the canal for the atmosphere, the great grounds you have over there, the beers, ....and to be away from their wifes.. :-)

it's a pitty that I have to work, but the other thousand antwerp lads will sing for me then.

Went to Belgium 4 weeks ago and met an anderlecht fan who I still keep in contact with.

He said that Antwerp are Belgiums biggest hooligans and would travel !

The police in town may have to keep an eye on them....

P.S They will all be on premium lager.........the lowest percentage beer in Belgium is 5.1% !!

Try this one if you fancy a nice Belgium Beer "Leffe Tripel" - 8.5% !!

I went into town just before 10.00 this morning and there was probably about 50 or more at Temple Meads. The first lot I noticed then were at the waterfront, in a bar the Queens Square side at the end of the Horn Bridge (Sorry not familiar with the bar names down there). They were fixing up a flag and taking over the place, didn't seem to happy to see my 2 wearing their city shirts so we didn't hang around!

There were pockets of them everywhere throughout towm, mostly in small groups just enjoying a day out but some didn't look too friendly. I was surprised by the numbers they have brought. Harbour Festival starts tonight I think, can't see that being trouble free.

Oh, and I didn't see any Police at all, not one.

indeed during the eighties and nineties we were a lot in the news for 'hool'-manners, but we play already for a few years in 2nd division and since then it's very quiet in and around the stadium, believe me. not every antwerp-fan is a hool either.

and about the beer...Duvel is the strongest one... www.duvel.be about almost 10% i believe
