cheese
Apart from the semis a long time ago agaist Notts Forest, why do we never seem to go far in cup competitions (ignoring Mickey Mouse Autowindscreens Daft Paint trophy)? Just once I'd love to see us on a serious cup run - before I die - please!!!

KevinC
Admittedly City haven't had much of a cup run in recent seasons, but had a few good runs from time to time, including two semi finals - in the seventies, before going out to Spurs, and of course the famous run which ended over 2 legs v Forest. City have had afew FA Cup runs too, although the best run was far back in 1973-4 and ended in a quarter final defeat at home to Liverpool. City aren't the greatest cup side, but it's always fun going to far-flung places... even if we lose!!
Fodbarmyarmy
No cup tradition? For christ sake! The statos out there can check if they want but as far as I can remember we have only lost just ONCE every season in each cup competition That's a tradition to be proud of
22A
Could the reason be that if City play as a bunch of cloggers, footballing sides tend to beat us. If City are known as a footballing side, everyone else raises their game when playing us.
