Previous Training Ground(s)

I seem to remember reading somewhere that City used to have their own training pitches many, many years ago (talking decades) but they were sold off to raise capital.

If this was the case, does anybody know where these pitches were?

Yep it was then called the BOCM club. Used to watch 'em through the fence.

Played on the pitches myself a few times.

In the 1950s City trained on Ashton Park whilst the gas trained on Eastville Park. No travelling time or expense and no upkeep of the grounds to pay either. In that video released for City's centenary, it states how one new City manager took a dressing room trouble maker behind the toilet block and roughed him up.

they training in St George/Whitehall and Packer playing fields during the mid-early 90's, believe they owned the ground after buying it from St George School, now it's currently one of the training pitches for the City Academy after the recently rebuilt that whole area, however haven't been over that way for a few years so not too sure
