Right Back On Tuesday?

Given GJ's history I would put money on the same back four from Barnsley starting on tuesday.

Me too.

Though if Jamie McAllister is ruled out I'd expect GJ to want to keep his centre back pairing unchanged, meaning Bradley could return at RB with Brian Wilson asked to switch across to LB.

Has Wilson ever actually played Left Back before though? is the obvious question?

I know he can play either wing, with his perferred position being Right Back? but can he/has he actually played Left Back before?

Considering the team we are playing, I'm wondering if he's going to be willing to risk a player in a possibly unknown position?

although he doesn't want to split up, McCombe and Fontaine, I still think it's more likely that Fontaine will move to Left Back and Webster will come in? and leave Wilson at Right Back?

Wilson has played left back a few times I believe.

I'd expect that playing him there is preferable to breaking the central defence partnership. Webster hasn't had a lot of football.

The other issue is that McCombe and Webster are effectively the same type of centre half, as both are aerially strong, but lack pace and Fontaine provides that.

Wilson has had parts of games in the reserves at LB but I'm not sure he's started that many (if any) games in his career there.

No point denying it, I'd have preferred a back up specialist left back brought in by now but is playing Wilson there so different from asking him to play on the left hand side of midfield?

Full back is more specialised. Having a right footed player wide left midfield is easier for the player as they can cut inside onto thier best foot. Thats not so easy further down the pitch where the pressure is often greater and mistakes more likely to lead to a goal.

Its a risky stratagy which why Johnson may start with Fontaine at left back if McAllister is out.
