Carle And Dyer

Carle looked quality IMO tonight, scored and looked like he could unlock a defence.

Nathan Dyer is looking for a club, wants out of Soton in January. Has got pace, eye for a goal too on tonights evidence, must be a better bet than Sproule, he's only 21 as well, local kid, I'm sure we can forgive his recent troubles. After all we stuck by Orr, we even clapped him today and he doesn't want to play for us!

Is he the one who used to play for Newcastle?

Totaly agree i know people don't like to admitt it etc etc but selling carle was HUGE mistake and we didnt give the lad enough time.

In regards to Dyer i wasnt to convinced, still think someone like jay tabb seems a better shout.

My big target in jan would be Surman but it looks like he is set for Spurs.

We should never have sold Nick Carle to our fierce Championship rivals Palarse. I certainly hope Gary Johnson didn't sell Nick Carle to make way for his son Lee who was useless against Burnely today in always shirking the tackle and always passing back to put our defence under pressure while trotting off.

but to quote Carle himself to my work mate, the manager thinks his son is a better player.

Gary Johnson's son - Lee Johnson - was rubbish against Burnley today. Lee was trotting around letting others carry his workload, shirking tackles and always passing back to put our defence under pressure. There were many occasions when Lee Johnson only had one Burnley player to beat to be able to set up Maynard or Stern John but he always chose the cowards way out - the pass back to defence.

i am afraid he did sell nick carle for that reason.i have it from a good source that mrs johnson put pressure on gary, because they had a grandchild on the way

so lee needed to be back in the team to get some win bonuses.she told him straight, you get rid of that carle, because he is far to good, and our lee will never get back in the team.shame about the win bonuses though.lee has not picked many of them up.

That wouldn't surprise me. The whole Lee/Gary Johnson scenario will cripple this club if it's not sorted soon. Nick Carle is a far better midfielder than Lee Johnson, I bet Neil Warnock couldn't believe his luck when we sold Carle to him for a £million.

When you sold Carle to us, I could swear I remember reading how Gary Johnson had sold us a lazy player who couldn't last 90 minutes (he scored in the 95th yesterday) and that Gavin Williams(?) was a better player for a fraction of the price Carle was sold for?

We know mate...you are preeching to many of us who are already converted.

You have been linked with David Noble of 30 yard thunder bolt fame, any news from your end of this? What ever anyone thinks of Neil Warnock he is no mug. And although he went a bit over the top with his antics after the 1st leg last year he regained some respect with some of us for the magnaminious way he handled defeat in the 2nd leg.

One thing is for sure Neil won't be knocking on the door for our number 33 and that for me speaks volumes!

You can see why we are struggling with that assesment!!

Propaganda by the club to justify the sale of Nick Carle to you? I don't know of any BCFC supporter that's said that but I do remember someone posting those sentiments on here. In buying Nick Carle for just one £million you got a bargain. You've got a great goalie and a class midfield and that's why you are where you are in the Championship. Gavin Williams is no more than a Div 1 quality player at the moment and that's why Shitswich sold him to us.

if Noble leaves for Palace i will call for GJs head

he is the most creative midfielder we have in this squad

and hes either out wide

or on the fxcking bench

both of which he is bloody wasted

when he should be playin cm with marv

but GJ doesnt have the bollucks to drop his son !

bloody angers me :grr: :grr:

re: David Noble - we heard about it after another Palace fan had browsed this board and then posted it cpfc.org. None of the 'Palace sources' mentioned anything. I don't think our midfield is what needs strengthening really, we're weakest up front. Although the poster of the thread on here said Warnock would be naming two targets because of fans getting on his back - I think these were since revealed to be Scott Sinclair and Craig Beattie...

Sorry - I wasn't very clear in my original post. I read those feelings towards Carle's sale on this website.

Like every club you have polarised opinions you had those that thought carle was cr*p, but how they came to that decision, I never know when he was played out of position (right sight of midfield) to accomodate a certian other player!

Then there was the other view and one that I subscribed to , that he took a bit of time to adjust, but played in his prefered central role he came good and we would see the best of him this season, alas it was not to be and in part we have paid the price for this ever since.

Gary Johnson said "judge me on this"...well unfortunately for Gary if he doesn't pull a rabbit or three out of the hat in January he proabably will be.

You have to bear in mind that, on this forum, if you're not in the team then you're the best player for the position you're not playing in. And, if you should get transferred out then you're the best player in that position since Adam was a boy.

My Director is a Palace season ticket holder and bangs on about Carle all the time. We also know that he left City cus he wasn't settled. You can't blame GJ for that.

Of course he was unsettled, he was played out of position, if he was played at all and that responsibility lays soley and squarely with the manager. It was his choice to make and he made it, but many said it was the wrong one at the time and it appears to playing out that way.

Totally agree with all in that post except we havn't seen Gav in the middle so we have to wait and see if he is any better at square or backward passing than Lee Johnson. Speroni is a class keeper mind and Watson well what a player.

OK fair enough, you have more info than I. But what I would say is that professional football is not a social club and as a fan I don't much care if the players like each other or socialise together. All I worry about is how they perform on the pitch. I think Gary Johnson obsession with this, probably stemming from the discord at the start of his tenure as Citys manager is now having the opposite effect where loyalty to players that are no longer performing, is standing in the way of progress.

That's a just rubbish.

The player knew nothing of being sold until he was told by his agent that City had agreed a fee with Palace

He didn't ask to leave wasn't unsettled or anything of the sort, the only person who didn't want Nick Carle at City was Gary Johnson, Gary Johnson was the one who offered Carle to Palace, not an agent or anything of the sort.

Carle was sold because the manager felt (rightly or wrongly) Lee Johnson was a better player and felt he didn't need both of them.

That is direct from Nick Carle.

(personally I think most fans would think that Carle is the better player)
