Steve Watts
Anyone else notice the roof of the Atyeo wobbling a good un tonight?!? Bloody freaked I out, it did! I'm sure it's safe and all, but....bleeding hell that wind was bad (although the wind helped us get back in the game as it forced us to stop lumping it and get it down on the deck where we're at our best). Also, was it me, or did the floodlights start cocking about toward the end too?
PhatWill
We were stood in the middle of the East End and were getting wet! Work that one out.

mattyboy83
yea the roof was wobbling a bit but the stewards reported it to be fair. Nothing to worry about Floodlights had a flicker too, I heard it was SL who ran out of 20p's for the meter. Again nothing to worry about
Dollymarie
I was about half way up the Eastend and the rain was getting me at times. We felt sorry for the cameraman on the scaffolding down our end he looked like he was going to take off at times, and the thunder and lightning couldnt have been making him feel any more secure. :noexpression:
The Man In Black
My wife sent me a text to say that the lights at home were flickering, this coincided with the floodlights doing a disco. Shocking weather, but I presume there is a back up generator?
aller g
i do remember a few years back the lights cuttinjg out mid-game.
The Man In Black
The Liverpool game? I believe that was more a physical fault with the generator, which is why back up power failed. I'm sure with modern technology we could all aim our mobile phones at the pitch to recreate the effect of floodlights.

And also before the Palace home game last season, think it was the normal league game, the lights cut out delaying kick-off.

Dollymarie
As long as I got it back!! Well at least you didnt fall on your backside when the second goal went in, due to attempting to jump about like a loon and it going horribly wrong! arpaul
The Atyeo Roof lifting and bowing? I can not recall ever seeing it happen before, and we've had worse weather in the past. Glad I wasn't sat under it!!!
Drew Peacock
Were there a couple of speakers hanging very loose from the front of the Dolman roof?
Admin Maesknoll Red Posted January 17, 2009 Admin Report Share Posted January 17, 2009 If the roof didn't flex, then it would be time to worry.......
BS3_RED
I would be worried if it didnt move as then it would probably fall down. All buildings are built to allow some movement.
Percy Parrot
And also before the Palace home game last season, think it was the normal league game, the lights cut out delaying kick-off. Yep - that was a fault at the local power exchange rather than the club. But when the lights go out they need to cool down before you can turn them back on with back-up power. Admin phantom Posted January 18, 2009 Admin Report Share Posted January 18, 2009 Were there a couple of speakers hanging very loose from the front of the Dolman roof? Noticed those aswell just to the left of the halfway line, looked like the left side had come undone and was only being kept up by other side, could not see any others like it in ground but could not believe they would come undone ? ? ? If the roof didn't flex, then it would be time to worry....... Very true - to be honest we have had windier days, when no footy being played and stand has survived before. . . Alex_BCFC
It did seem quite scary but I believe they are meant to wobble like that. Better to wobble that just snap without wobbling etc.
Port Said Red
I was waiting for the plastic windows to blow in on the Sky commentary box, you could see them bowing in the wind, it looked decidely dodgy!
The Man In Black
I expect just getting down from there was quite fun, given that they literally had to climb a ladder to get in and out of the box.
