Antman
I sit right at the back at Atyeo, and when the girder that supports the roof began to start wobbling, you could here the metal sheeting creaking and making funny noises. Me missus likened it to sound the Titanic made when it went down !! did you hear the loud 'Pang!' sound as well? I was waiting for the rivets to start popping!! I know buildings are designed to flex in tough conditions, but it really was moving!!

I know buildings are designed to flex in tough conditions, but it really was moving!! That's exactly the sound I was trying to describe! A lot of creaking and groaning from the ironwork. Frenchay Red
From where I sit about halfway along the Dolman I had a great view of the Atyeo roof flexing! I reckon there was about 12"/300mm deflection in the middle of the span, in the worst gusts. Bit scary, but I guess extreme wind-load is factored in the design and construction. Economou
Pointless comment? Probably. It was meant to be the start of an anti-Sky rant, footy just doesn't seem right at 5.20 on a saturday and if we'd kicked off at three the weather would've not been a factor.
