    Speakers

i have some Dali ones (from Richer Sounds) they are ace. good frequency range for 'compact' speakers https://www.dali-speakers.com/en-gb/ but i also have a portable Bose bluetooth speaker that is alarmingly good! Per NornIron, the cables are the bit many overlook, get good cables, it helps
  2. i suppose clubs like Chelski and Man C have got those additional assets (hotels etc) to move about, smaller clubs like florist haven't otherwise they would be doing the same? Maybe SL fancies a bit of it
  3. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/apr/19/chelseas-765m-hotel-deals-raise-questions-over-psr-compliance it is staggering that the powers that be allow the movement of assets between wholly owned subsiduaries of the same company (BlueCo) plus there seems to be no actual market valuation done - thats Trump territory! - Florist and the Everton lot must be pulling their hair out it's so painfully one rule for most and another for the elite clubs, it's embarrassing
  4. we come back to the point that Steve Lansdown has had to chuck money at the problems he himself created. this isn't repeated benevolence, more self interest. His tenure started as financial director and much of the debt is entirely down to his dubious and some downright terrible choices His driving ambition seems to be based around creating a complex and over priced business model which he hope to get a large pay day from, but I don't see that happening. so either he lowers his financial ambition on payback, or we are in some eternal limbo.

    Shirt?

Do you recall the 'NIBOR' shirt brand - another example of one of the many doom loops we are so effortlessly capable of getting into. (money saving exercise by the club at the time) as with so much with BCFC it comes down to the quality of decision making at senior management level, and we all know Steve doesn't like a challenge so we have inexperienced and seemingly inept people in positions of decision making. (not power) and then there's Jon... I agree entirely about the 'retro' thing - are we not capable of finding a contemporary kit design that also translates into the leisure wear? and while we all know kit manufacturers are more than happy to appear to reinvent the wheel in order to up their sales (Burnley wet look anyone?) there must be a strong designer out there who knows their stuff. ONeils seem to trying to break into the mainstream Football market having got the Irish stuff and some rugby under their wing but look at their catalogue, its a sea of indifference and a lot just looks cheap and nasty (our yellow shirts for example, how can you get a colour wrong?) I think we all want better, but have no one at the club we can hand on heart say is capable of delivering. kind of sad that.
  6. does it work? - it just bounces onto porn or spam websites for me.
  7. its definately worse though nowadays - perhaps we should be grateful for more SKY coverage ? but it makes having the RTV subscription a waste of time.
  8. i always recall a story i heard about Jack Charlton speaking at a footballers dinner event at Ashton Gate apparently he opened with the hilarious line "it's good to see Bristol City where they belong...19th in Division 2" (obv old divisions then) thats always stuck with me. sadly remains pretty accurate.

    The Fall

    Hit the north!
  10. thanks for that judgemental load of bollocks. have a nice day.
  11. i subscribe to the annual package, so not having games available (without prior warning) should mean a refund. if you buy a car and they take one of the wheels away, you'd expect recompense.
  12. domestic or overseas apparently. why is that and will they refund the Robins TV subscribers?
  13. 'some people are on the pitch...they think it's all over...' was that you then?
  14. SL never wanted a 'board' , thats been a problem for years that there never was a group to call out his selfish and often flawed decision making. everyone in post at the club is a sock puppet or a lightning rod which is damning. at this time the senior management is woefully underqualified. as you say SL has had a very long time to see the mistakes he's making, but keeps on doing the same shite again and again. you'd think he might learn. but no, it points at his vanity and his need to get a return on the 'investment' he has put in.
  15. when you set up the team to play like he does, it's no surprise the shots on goal are minimal. when you play your right winger out of position on the left and then bring on a left sided player and play him on the right, even when it's crystal clear Sykes is struggling out there. when the instructions are to try maintain possession & only play sideways and clearly no sense of how to get the ball forward. how does he expect the players to deliver when the game plan is fundamentally wrong. i would rather let in 3 and score 4 (simplistic i know, but you get my drift) than watch this shite
  16. you might consider another option Would like not to, but cannot kick the habit. i was trying to recall the last truly DULL manager we had when it went to shit - i suppose LJ , but even then there seemed to be a bit more about the club. The Lansdowns have really truly f ucked this.
  17. Star Wars (the first one) Master and Commander Name of the Rose The Longest Day
  18. he is the Colin Robinson of BCFC
  19. and just a note regarding the potential level of squad 'churn'. assume you can actually shift 1 or 2 players for money, (?) but given the state of the market this would mean we would be - once again - writing off a lot of players by terminating contracts or letting them go. Otherwise we will end up with a Russell Osman size (and style) squad of overwhelming indifference! not exactly a sustainable way of operating
  20. he had a full 45 minutes on Saturday to see where the shortcomings were. he didn't get it fixed, he didn't change it (enough to make a difference) if you are suggesting we just give him 'more time' across the remainder of this season (where we were meant to be 'pushing for the play offs' - JL/SL/BT) look at our points tally - we are heading in the wrong direction and will be very soon potentially worried about staying up.
  21. both are only in post to serve as lightning rods for the owner. Steve Lansdown has had all the time in the world to prove himself, but has only managed to oversee mediocrity and indecision, with the added bonus that this rudderless ownership has saddled us with considerable debt (which we are somehow grateful that he supports??) sadly he thinks he is building a sporting dynasty in the form of Barcelona, not so Steve, not so. Step away.

  24. i thought those were bog rolls in the keepers shirt pic? the full 1974 toilet roll thrown from the crowd experience?
