  1. in about 24 hours if SL gets his way...
  2. you might want to read that back - ! unlike the Lansdowns who think they have the right to pick the team.... a Poundsaver version perhaps.
  3. 82 eps?. The ALCS must be your friend :)
  4. me too they refunded the whole season TV pass to my account without warning. now emailed to say they have taken that back - it was in error - and will refund the relevant amount. such a professional service.
  5. too add, the situation isn't helped by the way central government can effectively over rule local authorities. so there is no certainty anymore.
  6. Taking pre emptive action merely protects their interests. By way of an comparison, a friend of mine runs a business in the docks in Bristol, adjacent to him was a derilict site that was then bought and developed into an intensive residential development, they (developers) then started campaigning to have his business closed in advance of selling the units, despite him being there for some years - fortunately the council told them to eff off. remember the hoo haa over the flats near the Fleece and Firkin - again, a development attempting to close an established business because of potential noise concerns - even though they knew that 'noise' existed before building was started. It's all part of the useless planning system i'm afraid. it seems now pre emptive action is part and parcel of strategies to block what might become a threatening development. (if residents do complain) clearer advice and legal positions need to be established. I'm surprised this wasn't signed off in advance, and as some have pointed out, is this a reactive grievance to something thats happened recently. (lost contracts)
  7. There's an amazing new movie about constipation it hasn't come out yet though.
  8. 1988 Milne was sold to man U after that.
  9. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66932993 It makes you wonder if the shirt manufacturers need to stop dicking around with the design and 'technology' of football (and sports) shirts. How can this sort of thing happen, do they not test the fabrics first?? Marginal gains is one thing, but this is a farce.
  10. there was one bloke who wasn't a fan tho' ... (clue: his wife is a grass)
  11. what scares me about your question (option 2) is that JL might be involved at all, in any capacity that would / could impact our operations. IMO There has been little or nothing he has done that has engendered a sense of credibility or reliability or indeed business acumen. This new arrangment means Tins is in charge of selling / buying - i can't comment on that or his ability to (wheel and) deal with agents. BUT...it suggests we have gone back down the road of the 'Yes men' (been there before!) and within that I worry for Pearsons longevity in his role. re the commercial side, any sense we have 'sorted it out' and no longer need a good person in that role is patent nonsense. No business stands still, and given the febrile nature of the transfer markets, surely the commercial side is more important than ever to offset ongoing losses on the field. PLUS, we are going into a major sporting development at AG with increased facilities across a broader portfolio (hotels, conference centre, basketball stadium etc)_ that will need a careful and profficient management to maximise revenue (surely?) is SL honestly suggesting his incumbent team is up to par? it all smacks so much of previous SL cycles of panic / go for it.
  12. why was one needed in the first place then? it's another Lansdown flip flop in the face of slight adversity, the bloke does a firesale and nails everything down as usual.
  13. same thing again... and really? REALLY? you think he has been led astray? the guys a control freak, if he has a more robust board and less compliant employees i think it would have been better all round. I cannot agree (not that it matters or you give a ****
  14. i will say it again, (and this is something i have said for many years now.) The reason he HAS to put money in is to bail out the problems he himself has overseen and in large part created. Why should I be appreciative of that? He treats the whole club as his plaything/business. (remember how he asked us all for money to buy a brick / buy a share, then locked everyone out and tried to buy 100% of it?) but he is just a custodian of the club. his faux modesty (but has bloody great name on the stand) also grates (while we're piling on ) Well #### him, i have my 3 shares and i'm not budging......(thats a joke BTW) Remember the Tony Thorpe/Sorenson/ Akinbiyi adventure, Benny Lenartson anyone? SL was across all that and did the same thing then - illogical and badly placed spending, followed by relative non performance on the pitch - followed by a fire sale and a Tony effing Pulis. he did it with Wilson, followed by Tins and of course Johnson, followed by Holden we have seen endless yo-yo spend/ miser seasons from SL. its depressingly familiar. I also don't get the sense he will sell to anyone sensible, he wants a good return and that i fear, means someone with more money than sense. That Chelsea bloke anyone? (Todd whatsit) the way he has structured Bristol Sport also makes it harder IMHO
  15. i want to see a replay of the disallowed goal It came off the defender for Wells to put in, but i presume it was flagged as wells was offside when the orginal pass/shot was taken? also was it the ref who ordered the flag to go up, as the Lino took such a stupidly long time to do so. if so, how was the ref positioned better? he was behind the line of play. seemed a shoddy call to me. thought Naismiths distribution made a big difference. he still carries that air of 'russian roullette' defending - will he make a clanger or not - but by comparison showed how indifferent Dickie's distribution is. Knight was excellent.
  16. a boat down the duoro - sunny day - thats a thing.
  17. i'm not sure the wording went through PR though 'Henri has developed a passion for Grass...' So did Cheech and Chong.
  18. all of the debt is due to SL's financial management of the club over a considerable period of time. there seems to be a disconnect between SL's apparent ongoing largesse and the need to service a debt HE created. If we are serious about the promised land of the prem, holding onto Scott for one season would be a shrewd investment you would have thought, and relatively worth it were Pearson to pull it off (lets face it it will take talent like Scott's to do this IMO) with the view that he would/could be sold if we didn't make it. Having that option seemingly taken away from him appears to have left him miffed - who can blame him. wait and see if he is given funds, if not then you might see a bit more overt critiscism ofthe management.
  19. what was funny is that the size of the players and the action on the screen is significantly smaller than the actual events unfolding before us. so what is the point??? (maybe they are satisfying those screen addicts - i mean the bloke who sits along from us, who is normally off his tits on coke, usually watches the darts on his phone during a game, so he prob thought it was brilliant)
  20. it has a really big key....
  21. a bit of Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake there Norn?
  22. Conway added nothing when he came on. admit that as a sub it's harder to impact, but it underscored that Wells didn't have that poor a game as primarily the service to the front guys was missing.
