Me! Though it's more like Plymouth Home.

Last time I went for a drink in a local boozer it had been dismantled by City fans who were being chased down the road by a mad axeman - a bit like a scene from the wild west. Shows how much of a dedicated drinker I am that I still entered the said pub and had a couple of pints. Oddly, some other City fans were still inside calmly supping up while all hell was breaking out around.

Think all pubs in the vicinity have been closed on police instructions following that incident. So it's been the off-licence by the traffic lights en route in from the A38 as the best alternative, Plod, however, I'm sure will try and 'encourage' people to drink in the ground.

That was the Cherry Tree and is probably best to avoid. Also for those arriving by train the pub as you come out of the station and turn right (pennycomequick) has shut down - or is doing a fine impression of looking that way when I drove past it!!. The Britannia ia a wetherspoons pub and is 5 minutes from the ground. Stoke village is within walking distance of the ground and has a few boozers/chippy etc but take a bit or care around there. For anyone arriving earlier the Barbican has quite a few decent pubs and food outlets (the 'famous' Cap'n Jaspers is still going strong) and that is where I will be heading. Town centre is like every town centre - a few different type of pubs to suit everyone. Last year with the stupid kick off time we went to the 6 a side centre (called GOALS) which you will find just before the ground as you come down outland road (off the A38). Don't think you are allowed to park in there but if they are open I would suggest that is a top place for family type supporters/anyone with kids. If you need to know anything else please don't hesitate to ask.

I remember that, that was my first ever away game. I'm so glad this post has been mentioned, I have often mentioned this incident to friends and they just look at me as if I'm full of bulls**t....

.....this was the same day as the car showroom down the road had all its windows put through aswell wasnt it?

Out of station turn right. Under railway bridge and down to roundabout - straight over there and head up the hill. 15/20 minute walk. There is a wetherspoons and a club (Embassy) near by. Do not go in Embassy Club.

Prepare to be escorted from the station to the ground like we were last year unless you get there early enough.

I'm considering this away game and may get tickets today with a mate.

One thing that bothers me is the amount of time the local constabulary keeps us locked in. I normally do this game but last year I didn't but my mate did. He said City fans were kept behind for 30-45 minutes and when they got out the ground, Plymouth fans were still waiting. Plus his car was one side of the ground, and he was told to walk in a complete opposite direction. Last time I went to Plymouth we were locked in for some stupid amount of time.

Having said this, I do like this away game and will consider it. But I do feel the local Police want to make it a s**t night win or lose for the city fans and stop you getting home at a semi-decent time.
