Mr Popodopolous
Saw it on the BBC Sport Feed. Sky's profits went from £742million to £60million, yet they can still afford to pay the EPL almost the same as last time, in a major recession too? When you take into account the Setanta deal, EPL live rights could be slightly HIGHER than last time, which is perverse indeed in this climate. But, if the recession really bites as the experts predict it may and with that aforementioned fall in 2008 in profits of about 92%, will they be able to keep the EPL deal? Logic says yes, but you don't know how bad it could get....none of us do....

When the recession really bites causing the like of you and I to cancel our subscriptions, the TV companies will have to slash their expenditure. Unless Chelsea, Liverpool and Man U decide to sponsor Sky.
