lou-peters-dive
We were already 4-0 up weren't we? :noexpression: I would have been confident taking that penalty. Yeh right. And Brad would have scored it as well. :noexpression:
Geoff65
a penalty is allways a 50/50 in that you either score or you don't!! Explain Le Tissier - 35 from 36 was it? was he just damn lucky? You have to have the confidence in the first place to take a penalty - Ruud Gullitt never took a penalty in his whole career due to lack of confidence. Should be strikers taking penalties - that's what they are paid to do score goals - would like them to take some of the free kicks around the box too. DavidNoble
Yeh right. And Brad would have scored it as well. :noexpression: If the keeper goes the wrong way then its as good as in. I said 'confident' not that i would score it.
Haster
Why the hell our we looking at our defenders to take pens? It seems a strange on to me. Mickey Bell was great at pens!!!

The question was who would you choose to take penalties. I think Skuse could do a good job. End of.

Chivs
Williams isn't a bad shout but Maynard having a penalty saved by the best keeper in the country is not a reason to let Orr (who is a poor penalty taker) take one. There should be a number of players in the queue before him. James, the best keeper in the country?????????? You are joking? Van der Sar or Cech with two broken legs and their arms tied behind their backs woould be better keepers than James. James is an awful keeper. Always has been, always will be. And a mealy mouthed cheat. I assume you meant best English keeper.
formerly known as ivan
strikers get paid a lot of money to score goals, therefore they should take the pens... simple!
bristolcitysweden
I'm not trying to be clever. But I have always said Orr should not be the Penalty taker. He puts the ball to close to the keeper everytime. The only way he scores, is a 50 /50 by putting the keeper the wrong way. My choice would either be Maynard or Mccindoe. Who would yours be and Why ? Maynard, Williams or Noble.
Lack of Action Man
Basso for me. Well he can't be worse than anyone else on the pitch can he?
lou-peters-dive
Mickey Bell was great at pens!!! Absolutely agree. He was good. Full Back to. You have to be up for it and confident. He always was. Its not an easy job. Got to give Brad credit for stepping up to take penalty today but our penalty taking record this season is not good and we need to get it right. Managers decision at the end of the day.

Guest DanC
I'm a believer in who ever wants to take it the most should take it as obviously that player is confident enough to take it.
