RedUn
Over the years, my gut feeling is we fare pretty badly results-wise up in Tyke country ... anybody with a bit of time on their hands care to do the necessary research? (Students used to be good for this sort of thing) London would be another nomination for somewhere we just don't travel well to ...
22A
Yep Yorkshire was bad; but then 2 years ago during the promo run in we won at Donny, then having gone up, early last season we won at Sheff W. Despite a poor record up there though; Halifax and Scarborough both no longer with us. York = Conference. Bradford, Huddersfield and Leeds not in our div any more. That just leaves Barnsley, Donny and the Sheffield pair. Tech question; Yorkshire CCC used to play occasionally at M'boro'. Are Middlesbrough FC a Yorkshire or Teeside team? slomo
Y Tech question; Yorkshire CCC used to play occasionally at M'boro'. Are Middlesbrough FC a Yorkshire or Teeside team? Middlesbrough is in the old North Riding of Yorkshire, like any part of Teesside to the south of the river. They've just demolished the old North Riding Infirmary in the town, and built a big Aldi or something in its place.
22A
London would be another nomination for somewhere we just don't travel well to ... In the past yes, but a JPT win at QPR, League wins at Brentford in the past and Charlton this season, plus the play off v Palace suggest that corner may be turned. Now Lancs is the problem. OK Blackpoo this and last season, but Preston and Burnley are difficult. We don't have to worry about the likes of Southport, Morecombe, Bury, Accrington or Oldham. Nor are we too concerned (yet) about Blackburn, Bolton the Liverpool and Manchester pairs. Overall though it is memorable when City do manage a win in Lancs. Chivs
I've always thought we travel badly to Italy. Which worries me greatly for two years time.
22A
East Anglia used to be bad for City; Southend, Colchester, Ipswich, Norwich and to a lesser extent Cambs U and Posh. With the exception of ITFC, City have wonon their last few visits to the remainder of that list. Hampshire's not too bad for City either; Aldershot, Pompey, Saints & Boremuff (yes I know it's in Dorset now, but it used to be Hants).

Bob4Jane
We travel well to Horfield. It's travelling back with 4 slashed tyres that's the problem. Bam!
slomo
well that will have added substantially to the architectural heritage of the place then. :noexpression: Don't get me started on the architecture of Middlesbrough. I suppose they have the excuse that they started late - the place was a swamp until the middle of the 19th century. But you would think that would make them more careful not to demolish some of the few attractive buildings in the place, which they did several years ago to build an elevated dual carriageway through the middle of the town.
