Gj To Celtic

I was talking to my mate Sammy the Spider, who said in a strange psychadelic kind of way that he'd heard that GJ could be off to Celtic.

Might be rubbish of course, but the wife found me still half way up the stairs this morning with a strange smell coming from my breath so it could be true.

If Gary Johnson goes to Celtic then I will bare my backside in Burtons window..... and every other window in town too.

Why move to a 3rd world area full of crack heads and illiterate Neanderthals and manage a team of similar ilk in Europes laughing stock league?

He could join the Gas if he wanted that.

I'm assuming you're joking. If Glasgow Celtic really did come a knocking for Gary do we really think he'd stay in Bristol? As good as we think GJ is, he ain't good enough for Celtic. He wouldn't know what to do with a club the size of Celtic.

As for the SPL being a laughing stock league... Well, I guess that shows just how little you actually know. Three times SPL clubs have made the last 16 of the CL in the last five years. Twice SPL clubs have made it to European finals in the last 6/7 years. For a country with a small population it actually holds its own in Europe.

As for Glasgow being full of crack heads..... Well, you ever been to Bristol?

True to a point, but the crackheads in Glasgow are easily identified by their green and white apparel!! :innocent06::innocent06:

Up the 'Gers SPL champions 2008/2009.

i think thats a bit mean spirited; after all, Strachan did not exactly set the world alight at Coventry now did he?

I think GJ is far more capable than you give him credit.

The frontrunners appear to be McGhee from Motherwell, Levein from Dundee Utd (who flopped horribly at Leicester) and the 2 ex Celtic Players, Mowbray (WBA) and McCarthy (Wolves), with Owen Coyle also linked. Roy Aitken the asst at Birmingham, who was a legend as a player at parkhead is also being heavily tipped.

TBH I'd think Ally McCoist would more likely than GJ!!!!!!!! :innocent06::innocent06:

GJ is a man of ambition, that rules him out of ever managing in SPL. What a sad and predictable league it is, its worse than the Portuguese league.

its always an old firm race for top spot, how very dull playing the same teams over and over and over and over again...Yawns.

Even Mowbray told Celtic to piss off, and GJ is twice the manager he is. Celtic would never approach GJ because he's too good for SPL, and like i say, hes got AMBITION to play in the Prem, something SPL can never ever dream of, no matter how much better Ranger and Celtic are than the rest of the piss poor teams in the league.

Who gives a crap if they are represented in Europe 16 times or whatever, they get the opportunity EVERY single season to try and win it, but they don't because they're shite, playing in Mickey Mouse league with crap players. Odds are if you play enough games your bound to get to a final or 2, that's a mathematical fact, still a crap league full of crap players in a crap country.

Of course i've been to Bristol, I lived there most of my life, I've also worked in shitty Scotland, yes parts of Bristol have drug problems like all Citys, but Glasgow is just a terrible City in every respect, FULL of crackheads and general scum, probably because there is no decent football or teams to support.

I think the average life expectancy of a Scot is like 45, it's 3rd world up there.

Thats why no decent player wanna go there, no decent managers want to go there and noone goes there on Holiday, the place is just a dump.

The bookies rate Graeme Souness more likely to get it than GJ, which tells you something  . Mowbray is odds on to get it.

Though in all fairness, Kendal Mint Cake is very nice.

Looks like there is no end in sight as regards the managers-on-the-move pantomime!! Latest media gossip linking Bruce with Sunderland (a geordie to the mackems??!!) and Alan Irvine to Reading, as well asthe usual suspects Curbishley/Boothroyd to QPR with Blackwell also being touted for the hottest seat in West London.

Glad we have got GJ... :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

As for Celtic, I don't think he has been linked by anyone except on here. If they were to come in for him, I think he would probably stay.

With regards the Sunderland job, they wanted Louis Van Gaal, that was the plan. But since he went to Bayern Munich that's gone out of the window so it could be Strachan to there.

As for the points about the PL, well yes it has twice the number of sides who can win it. But proportionally speaking, it has nearly twice the teams so in terms of % of sides who can win it is nearly the same! As it is in most of the European Leagues unfortunately, except for Germany.

NOT THAT GJ HAS A HOPE IN HELL BUT HE'D TAKE AN OLD FIRM JOB IN A HEARTBEAT.

NO PREMIER LEAGUE SIDE WOULD EVER COME IN FOR GJ - WHY SHOULD THEY?

HE IS NO DOUBT AMBITIOUS BUT HAS REACHED HIS LIMIT AT CITY.

I THINK YOU MUST HAVE HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE IN GLASGOW - ITS AN EXCELLENT PLACE.

Thats why no decent player wanna go there, no decent managers want to go there and noone goes there on Holiday, the place is just a dump.

WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG

CITY WOULD HAVE CELTICS SQUAD BUT NONE WOULD WANT TO COME HERE.

PLENTY OF GOOD MANAGERS COME FROM THERE.

I WOULD IMAGINE MORE PEOPLE GO TO SCOTLAND FOR A HOLIDAY THAN BRISTOL.

THERE ARE PARTS OF SCOTLAND THAT ARE SHITE - JUST LIKE HERE.

COURTESY OF THE ENGLISH TAXPAYER, BILLIONS HAVE BEEN SPENT MAKING IT GENERALLY VERY NICE.

Anyone from Bristol, in my opinion, really has no leg to stand on when it comes to comparing their city to Glasgow.

Yes, the SPL is predictable. Of course it is. The largest city with the two biggest clubs will always do well. I do, however, believe you should check out your own ' premier' league. Not only is it just as predictable but non of England's top four clubs have an English manager and I'd be surprised if you could actually form a team of Englishmen collectively.

On the subject of it being a mathematical fact that a Scottish team will eventually make it to a European final, are you pretending to be stupid or are you really a blethering idiot. Dutch clubs, invariably the same two or three, qualify for Europe every season. Don't remember them doing quite so well.

I'm assuming you've not been to Glasgow for a number of years if you still have the view it's a terrible, terrible place. I suggest you book an easyjet flight today. You'd be surprised.

Now, to the subject at hand, GJ is a good Championship manager. Final. Celtic are a world famous club with a rich history. Yes they've appointed some less that suitable gaffers but I'd suggest ' Our Gary ' really isn't up to the task of managing in the 'goldfish bowl' that is Glasgow. He can't even handle Marcus Stewart for god sake. How would be cope with players with oddles of money and attitude.

I read on here that Ally McCoist has a better chance of being Celtic's new manager. I'd suggest that the Pope has a better chance of filling the vacancy at Rangers that such an appointment would leave than GJ even being considered by the Celtic board.

You should know I don't support Celtic. I just find the notion of GJ's name being talked about regarding the Celtic job absurd.

GJ handled Stewart perfectly - shipped him out - just the job.
