Shambles Tonight

No, it didn't. We still had two centre forwards and two central midfielders and two wide players on the pitch for almost all the games in that run, we just asked McIndoe to cover the gaping hole in midfield and pretended the lack of width was a 433. Our best spell of last season came playing the worst teams in the division and that is no co-incidence.

Yes it tells us we were a mid table Championship side, to good to go down but not good enough to get to the play-offs. That we comfortably stayed in a division in which we are a smaller club easily for the second time..... oh and that our manager needed to stregthen if we wanted to push on.... which he has.

Yes, he's strengthened the squad and I'm very happy with the signings made. But the 433 like system he seems to have his heart set on will cause us to underperform badly because we don't have the players for it. Few teams if any at this level do, it does not play to our strengths at all.

tonight was shambolic. Not a single tackle in midfield, Maynard up top all alone, Clarkson wide left, what is that all about ?

The new keeper can't kick and looked shite, not a patch on Chris Weale.

Ok they looked bloody brilliant but the AREN'T...........

If we don't get a wide left and a target man asap we may as well look forward to a season of struggle.

Yes this is doom and gloom but tonight really was shite and should have been 10-0 but for woeful finishing.

Lesson Number 1 - never post when you are angry. You completely lose perspective. You should have slept on it!!

Good Greif, some people won't be happy until we are winning every game 5-0. If you want that then you are in the wrong place.

It was a friendly. Heres a point, should Elliot or whoever go into a tackle hard and bust his knee and is out for the season. It isn't worth the risk of being agressive in the tackle and risking injuries in friendly matches.

:disapointed2se: never bloody happy some people. Its only a friendly!!! It was good to see a team like ajax come over. their ball retention was just something else!! Just because they are not the force they used to be doesn't mean they are a bad side!! Sno in the middle of the park had a great game.

As for the city boys i think they will learn a few things from the game and honestly are we really going to come up against sides with the calibre of ajax in the championship? Least there were a few positives to come from last night!

:whistle2:

When you play a friendly and theres no tackling then the better technical side will ALWAYS win, get a grip mate.

Ajax are a top class side, watch them on your tv in Europe this season.

You also need to calm down, its mid July.
