leylandsroad
not many teams in this league have a squad like this, delighted with the win, hope we are home in the next round. Where was Trundle ? have I missed something ? Just back from my holidays.

cityk
Blimey, we played terribly! Good to get a win, yes, but we shouldn't have won that one. Sad to say the team did not play well and I've come away feeling like it was a defeat not a win this evening.
EmersonsKev
I think we played really poorly and relied on scraps. To much long ball in first half for my liking and looking that GJ sent the boys out 5mins early at half time he'd had enough of them aswell. They missed a completely open goal in the first half which was gifted to them by us. Had they had a little more quality in the box we would be in a very different position right now. BUT once we get Hartley, Clarkson and Macca back we will be much stronger and should be looking for a win on Saturday.
Mr Roper
Just got back from Brentford & we did play very poorly but always had the feeling we would prevail ,do get the occasional bout of optimism. Thanks to Deane Gherkin we scraped through .It wasnt great but so what everybody seemed to enjoy the night so onwards & upwards . SUMMAT OUTTA NOWT
A result is a result. Who cares if you play crap. The win is all that matters. If you can grind out some sort of run and pick up the confidence within the team especially in the league and get points on the board a carling cup run would be a bonus. Also great to see brilliant support at Brentford.

INform they maybe but so should we be, But a win is a win but not great football according to reports. We will have to get some form of our own if we are to mount a challenge. First half wasnt great - but Brentford are no mugs: champions from league 2 often do well in league 1 following season, and they had their best team out. good night's work
Guest churchill gaffer
I am so glad I was wrong on the result Great win This should have been two wins in a row We have to learn from the mistakes, but we say this every year

Players know when they have had the 'rub of the green' and got an undesreved result. A feeling of 'when are we going to get stuffed' can creep in. Whats important is that after an unconvincing/lucky/fortunate/poor performance that the team bounce with a good performance.

A win is a win and will always breed confidence in the team. If you win and don't play well you get confidence from still being able to grind out the result. As long as the mentality is there that if your not entirely on your game you work your socks off and make it as hard for the opposition to play you will gain confidence from that. Easy this management lark aint it

But then thats balanced out by games like saturday, where players know they did well enough for 3 points and only got 1.
