Gazred
Shocking! So that means no new players until the transfer window Jan 2011? Not condoning what they have done but...bit harsh init? Also wonder if Ancellotti knew of any of this before he took the job? Thoughts?.... The Man In Black
I'm sure I've heard (and this is a rumour, it's an 'allegedly') that they do this all the time, they just pay off the clubs they do it to. So nice to see them punished for once. I'm sure they'll haggle it down on appeal though.
Gazred
Well if that is the case, then firstly well done to Lens for blowing the whistle and secondly, they deserve everything they get...there is just no need for those kind of shenanigans. Guest
You only have to look at how Rovers got shafted by them over the Sinclair transfer. It's about time Fifa cracked down on it.
RedM
Also in the artical Fifa punished Switzerland's FC Sion for a similar offence in April and the club was told it could not sign players until the 2010 offseason. This was punishment for their actions in luring Egypt goalkeeper Essam El Hadary in 2008 before his deal with Al-Ahly had expired. Like Kakuta, El Hadary received a four-month ban from playing. Sion have appealed to CAS, which has frozen the sanctions while it considers the case, allowing the club to trade before the current season began. A ruling is expected later this year. Is this the same club that we have just loaned Soborio from? I hope he doesn't get an early recall if his club are short of players (if found guilty). I know a season long loan player can't be recalled back over here (or it used to be) is it the same in Europe?
The Man In Black
I'm guessing that for a season long loan there wouldn't be a recall clause, otherwise a club would just wait until a player hit form and then recall them...
The Man In Black
And didn't Man Utd pay Tottenham off for the manner in which they tapped Berbatov up? Or was that another player/club?
Jordan Tansley
after the joke punishments they got for the Ass-hley Cole, Sven, Stevie G and Mikel incidents, not to mention stolen kids from Leeds, the gas and many more, its about time Chelski got shafted. funny how United were like this until Kenyon left... and kenyon is in charge of transfers at chelsea.... the bloke is like a cancer to football. slowly killing it. glad he got some sort of punishment for his actions. 22A
UEFA hit Arsenal last week and now Chelsea this week. Are the remainder of Europe's top clubs run by saints with true gentlemen for players?
Northern Red
Good, about time. Manchester City next please.
redredrobin21
I can't see all of this not catching up with Chelsea sooner or later. Interesting Premier League article here that seems to think they're heading for major problems. I'd be more than happy for it all to go wrong for them, it would finally send out a message that it's not ok to break the rules.
