marshy
If you want great beaches you'll struggle to beat the ones in North Devon(about 1 1/2 hours). Saunton Sands, Croyde Bay, Putsborough/Woolacombe are fabulous beaches and great for surfing-but avoid Ilfracombe.

zookeeper
Like all citys Stockholm can be expensive if you wan't it to be but it don't have to be that way. In general I would say the price level is similar as in England. When I go to England I don't wan't to end up with London snobs. I would like to meet good honest people - football fans all around the country. Stockholm is not expensive (all links in English). - Fly Ryan from Stanstead to Skavsta Stockholm (100 km from Stockholm) - Stay a few nights at Af Chapman, a youth hostel ship in the very City centre. It's for all ages. http://www.svenskaturistforeningen.se/en/D...--Skeppsholmen/ - Catch a regular boat (Waxholmsbolaget) http://www.waxholmsbolaget.se/en/default.aspx/ to Finnhamn and stay at the youth hostel there. Again for all ages. http://www.finnhamn.se/ http://www.finnhamn.se/index.php?id=20 - With the regular boats you can go from island to island for a very fair price. http://www.waxholmsbolaget.se/skargardstra...en/batluff.aspx Questions? Cheers Tommy Is the Hostel that used to be the prison still going?

deadratinmycider
Wifes agreed on Bristol next August (league start) but where to go on a die hot day? Weston Super Mare? Cheers Tommy Good work Tommy!! Your continued quest to support the City doesn't go unnoticed!! It depends what you're looking for and how far you want to travel? If you want to sample the city life of Bristol then you can't beat the docks/harbourside of Bristol on a sunny day for just chilling out with drinks or food. Get on a boat along the docks down to Hotwells in to The Cottage for some grub. Get yourself up to Clifton aswell if you can. If you're looking for traditional british seaside then the previous posts will see you in good stead. Will you have a car? if so then head down to dorset or devon, there are so many beautiful seaside townS in these counties it's unreal. If only we could gaurentee the weather!
