He was unfortunately injured early in the 1966 World Cup campaign otherwise it could have been him and not Sir Geoff Hurst that scored a hat-trick. Good call Robbored. In the '60's he was almost a class apart as a goalscorer and had he played right through the '66 world,cup may well have then been regarded as truly world class. His loss was sir Geoff's gain but to my mind Hurst was not in the same league. Ive tried picking my all time world 11, and have so far come up wtih about 6 different teasm, as there are so many players who could get in such a team. All I will say is that these were my shoe in players - Pele, Maradona, Moore, Beckenbaur, Cruff and Best. Any other 5 players should see them through any game!
