Not really related to your predictor but yesterday was browsing through a QPR fanzine written pre-season and their predicted final table was as follows;

2. Sheff Utd

3. Cardiff

4. Preston

5. QPR

6. Reading

7. Boro

8. Ipswich

9. City

10. Derby

11. Leicester

12. Forest

13. Palace

14. Newcastle

Here's my slap dash effort whilst trying to steer clear of uni work:

Top 6:

Newcastle 102

Baggies 93

Forest 88

Swansea 79

Leicester 78

Cardiff 70

Had City in 13th place at the end of the season with 59 points and -14 GD

Bottom 3:

Plymouth 44

Sheff Weds 43

Peterborough 32

I wasn't aware of it at the time but it seems i'm predicting Sheff Weds to crash and burn!

Did mine Monday.

I too have Sheffield Wednesday to drop down, looking at their fixtures I would hazard they have if not the hardest, one of the hardest run ins of all the teams fighting to stave off relegation.

Can see it being one of the lowest points totals to stay up for a long time.

As for us maybe I have underestimated our results, but then again maybe the confidence has been eroded by the consistant throwing away of points this season, Reading I believe are too late to mount a charge to the playoffs.

Palace V Wednesday on the final day will not be fun for both sets of supporters.

OK, there was a fair slice of optimism used in my predictions here and my predicted final table is a definite long shot. But Swansea have won just one of their last 8, Blackpool have to play both Forest and us in their last three games, Middlesbrough have to play West Brom and Leicester in their last three, and while Reading have two games in hand with one of them against Newcastle it's feasible they'll get no more than 11 points from their last 15 available. Always believe.

A nice dream, in a perfect world.

Personally i'd fear the worst for our Club, if we were to go up via the play off's...however remote.

Newcastle and WBA have a remote chance of staying up next year. But whoever goes up via the Play offs, imo, aren't nearly good enough for the Premier League. In the long run, it becomes very unstabling for such clubs.

Fans expectations become too high, wages too high, journeyman overated pros brought in, managers get sacked or are under constant pressure...the list goes on. Hopefully Burnley can prove me wrong, but in general this is the case.

For me, I would want City to go up automatically by dominating the Championship and winning it in superior style. With a set of players that are Premier League quality and a manager that knows what it needs to stay up in the Premier League.

I agree, I think it may take 2 seasons at the least for this two happen, next season for the new man to come in and consolidate, building the team, and the season after for a real promotion push, like GJ's 1st two seasons here.
