Martyn Hocking
Bit of a weirdo but did more to change the face of music (for the better!) when I was a kid than just about anybody still alive (Joe Strummer RIP too!)

Old Dazzler
It was a bit of a surprise that John Lydon (not that I should really ever be surpised by Rotten!) paid him some nice compliments as they seemed to have played out a double act of loathing each other since even before the Pistols split up. Never Mind the Bollocks was an iconic album of hard core (but very commerical) punk sound, but anyone who wants to know what Malcolm was about should get the Great Rock and Roll Swindle Album or DVD. There are some great "arty" tracks such as "l'anarchie pour le UK" with French style accordion, as well as the usual Pistols stuff, Malcolm himself singing "You've got hands" not to mention Ronnie Biggs singing "Belsen was a Gas" and Sid's unforgettable rendition of "MY Way". Enjoy the paradoxical nature of the whole project, summed up by the title of the movie, which seemed to encapsulate the whole scene at the time. In the midst of all the punk mania, Malcolm was able to step back and realise that the Punk was just another commercial venture that would crash and burn but "let's have some fun and make some money before it does". madmax
One of my favourites years ago was Waltz Darling by McClaren and The Bootzilla Orchestra. Just looked it up on iTunes and it's going straight on my iPod! RIP to a great. MM
