Good stuff from the press for a change.

Except for the glaring factual errors:

"Planning permission was obtained from Bristol city council, but one access route comes under the jurisdiction of North Somerset council, who were less obliging, bestowing village green status on the site"

When will journalists ever get their facts right!?

1) As we all know, North Somerset eventually gave planning permission for the access road

2) The village green thing has nothing to do with North Somerset

3) Village green status has NOT been bestowed on the site

Other than that, all factually wonderfully accurate!

Good to see from an outsiders impartial view that the "Village Green" is really a dumping ground for old mattresses ! Why can't the Council see through the Nimby's tatics and do the right thing?

We all hope they will

but they, "the council" have to go through the process, there is no other way... the Nimbys have rights and are exercising them

come decision day and hopefully the decision going our way, then the Nimbys have to pay a lot of hard cash to exercise those rights further (in the case of an appeal)

I am hoping £ 350k invested behind the world cup bid suggests they, the council, have a positive view of the stadium.

Surely the mattresses can be dumped elsewhere.....Horfield?
