glastonred
Where's the option for "If he wants it"? The stadium naming rights will be sold, have no doubt about that. Our best hope there is that someone appropriate buys them ("The Blackthorn Stadium", anyone?) I think that whatever irrelevant commercial name the stadium officially goes under, we, the fans, should always refer to it as 'Ashton Vale'. I have a friend who is a Bradford City supporter, and their fans would never dream of referring to their ground as the 'Coral Windows Stadium'. It'll always be 'Valley Parade' to them. We should absolutely refuse to kowtow to commercialism, and maintain the 'Ashton' connection.
bristolcitysweden
Home stand. And with the greatest respect the council should honour Steve with naming the street leading to the stadium to his honour.
Philip Belgrave
I think it would be entirely appropriate to name a stand after the outgoing chairman- with his permission, of course.
Stephen Lewis
How about some names we wouldn't want stands named after? "The George Ferguson Stand" "The Ian Holloway Stand" The dog poo view stand

red colin
Well if the club are going down the naming rights road for the stadium and SL is now the main investor it would make sense to call it after him rather than a packet of crisps or an airline, or The mcdonalds Ashton vale stadium is just nasty, just do what reading did, The madejski, with us The Lansdown. The inner stands, rooms and roads can then be plastered by former players and chairman's names as it is now. I think It sounds good to say bristol city play at THE LANSDOWN or THE LANSDOWN ARENA ..... man utd are away at the lansdown saturday yep that sounds ok to me

grifty
I quite like the name Ashton Vale. I also think the 4 stands should stay as they are, especially the Atyeo and the Dolman. The Lansdown Otter Sanctum has a nice ring to it.
