Pitman is a better finisher yes but Maynard is an all round better footballer,

Pitman is your typical lazy centre forward where as Maynard track backs drops into midfield to help defends our 18 yard box and can score from anywhere on the pitch

Pitman is a 18 yard box player

Those suggest we get rid of maynard are ******* stupid and are better off supporting the Gas imho they like to sell there best players

Maynard played 11 times this season scoring 6 due to injury and suppension Pitman played 35 times scoring 13 Maynard is a 1 in 2 pitman is a 1 in 3 man,

WHAT?!

Maynard is clearly a better finisher but Pitman is much better off the ball. He has a brilliant football brain, knows where everyone is in relation to him at all times and his off the ball running is superb. His finishing however is not up to Maynard's spectacular standard. Last season Pitman would not have scored 20 goals however he will provide a better strike partner for Stead, if that's the route we take.

The second point you've made is really wuite naive. Pitman is in no way lazy. You shouldn't have to run around all match like a headless chicken just to escape the lazy tag. He is very clever off the ball and moves when he has to, he actually makes a lot of excellent runs, especially at the back post.

I'd be happy to sell Maynard if it means getting 3-4 million to reinvest in the team/boost the accounts as we have two excellent strikers in Pitman and Stead. Likewise if Maynard stays we have retained an excellent striker and we also have more options available to us. Not too bad a situation to be in.

Pitman had a better first season than Maynard. He works hard enough, often out wide and in the channels. He also has a bit more vision and flair.

Maynard is quicker and more likely to get in behind. Pace is very valuable.

Pitman's better in the air. Maynard's probably better at thirty yarders.

Both strike a ball well with both feet.

Yes, getting rid of Maynard would be stupid, he's a great player at this level. So will Pitman be even if he is a year behind Maynard.

Let's just count ourselves lucky to have two exceptional strikers and a great centre forward to play them off.
