Mr Popodopolous
One point in defence of Van Basten, he does like his attractive football. Holland in Euro 2008 played some excellent stuff but were weak at the back and it showed v Russia- who funnily enough were managed by Hiddink. Mr Popodopolous
Latest reports suggest Hiddink plans to stay with Turkey, though a different rumour suggests Hiddink to Chelsea, Benitez to Turkey.Typifies the arrogance of top clubs really, just thinking they can go and pluck any manager or player they like. Mr Popodopolous
Well, let's hope not in this case- hopefully we'll see some loyalty left in football- Hiddink is a man of his word up to now anyway, so we'll see.
Barrs Court Red
He can manage turkey and win nothing, or join Chelsea and have a chance at the biggest prize in football. What's to decide?
Mr Popodopolous
They made the semis of Euro 2008, he is a better manager than the last incumbent so he could win Euro 2012 I guess, highly unlikely though it is.
dragonreds
He should have gone in jan. It's open for the return of the special one.... What ever happens I expect to see a huge clear out in the summer, drogba, Anelka, essien, kalou, ivanovich, bosingwa to name but a few. i'm amazed as to why you have essien on that list, he's the best player in the world at what he does. he hasn't been that impressive this year but surely after pre-season he'll be fine next year. Mr Mosquito
He should have gone in jan. It's open for the return of the special one.... What ever happens I expect to see a huge clear out in the summer, drogba, Anelka, essien, kalou, ivanovich, bosingwa to name but a few. I heard talk of the Chelsea 'special one' - Jose Mourinho - replacing Sir Alex Ferguson at Man U at some stage. In my dreams I think of Drogba, Anelka, Essien, Kalou, Ivanovich and Bosingwa playing for us next season. With those players we'd be certs for promotion and top favourites for the FA Cup and League Cup !!!!!
