News Of The World

Funny, I was watching a report on Greek attitudes to the Euro and reactions to the austerity budget forced on their government only today on ... the BBC News Channel.

I'd like you to give me some examples of these sensationalised news bulletins of which you speak.

Having once worked there, I can assure you that no media outlet's output is subject to more scrutiny and checks and balances than the Beeb's.

If people are saying that the BBC is overplaying the phone-hacking scandal then they've obviously not watched Sky News, whose rolling service matched minute-by-minute the BBCs.

I suppose they are all 'Fabians' too, are they? :whistle2:

The whole recruitment and selection at the BBC seems to be corrupt. My example is the BBC's David Dimblebollux of Question Time - a Toff who got his top job at the BBC because his Dad worked there. Everytime the likes of Nigel Farage gets on BBC Question Time questions on EU fraud and corruption are not asked. When Nigel Farage does try to speak on the subject he's interupted by Dimblebollux - Nigel Farage is awesome in the EU parliament but the BBC wont let him speak on the BBC on the key EU issues like EU fraud and corruption.

As for the people of Greece, I wish them the best of British luck in making a stand against the EU Euro bankster tyrants of Frankfurt in Germany that want to loan them billions of Euros at extortionate interest rates. The Greeks have a glorious history of standing for their freedom against tyrants. Greek Spartans making their stand against the tyrant King Xerses......

Hmmm. I got a job at the Beeb and my dad was a bus driver originally. Perhaps the lucky top hat I was wearing worked in my favour!

I do agree with you on the presentation style of the news BTW Gobbers. The overblown, "expert" heavy, graphics a-go-go style of BBC News - with pointless lives every five seconds - gets on my thruppenies.

Give me Channel 4 News any day.

Fair play to you getting a job at the BBC, pretty good pay there and a secure state job for life if you play your cards right. However, I really don't think that the hierarchy of the BBC are in any position to criticize the likes of Rupert Murdoch the way they have been with their broadcasts. As I wrote before, the BBC educational programmes - especially their Open University linked broadcasts - are first class. A shame that the BBC's impartiality is being compromized in what seems to be a top level BBC grudge against the Murdoch empire.

Well, as corporation money has never been spent on private investigators to phone-hack murder and terrorism victims, and it doesn't bribe policemen (etc) to divulge confidential material, I guess we'll have to disagree on that point.

The BBC is quite right to report on the public outcry at some of the revelations about what went on at News International. Revelations reported by every other news outlet, including (to be fair) Sky News and the Sunday Times.

Ahem.....

The BBC was fined an unprecedented £50,000 today for faking the result of a Blue Peter premium-rate phone-in and misleading a child audience.

Christ, you've won the argument!

Failing to disclose that a phone vote for the name of the Blue Peter dog had ****** up is identical to hacking the phone of Milly Dowler then deleting the messages.

:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

I haven't won anything but I do support the campaign to get the BBC licence fee stopped due to the BBC supporting the EU with blatant EU propaganda.......

BBC4 is rathet decent also I'd suggest. Regards Beeb and Murdoch, newspapers of the l;atter have taken many opportunities to slag them off in the past so a bit of schadenfreude now may be natural but still in breach of impartiality rules of course- perhaps you yourself have an agenda?

My agenda, the annual cost of a colour TV licence is £145.50 (as from 1 April 2010). This represents a lot of money to most people - including me - and I expect better value for it.

The 2007 BBC Charter clearly specifies that the mission of the Corporation is to "inform, educate and entertain". So, where is the information on the European Union project? Why the secrecy from the BBC state broadcaster for which I pay an annual licence fee? When I watch BBC political programmes like BBC Question Time I expect impartiality and not some overpaid BBC Toff like David Dimblebollux pushing his own EU cover up agenda. :w00t:

Are you actually on crack ? Never before have i read such complete and utter bollocks from one human being.

Take you tin foil hat off and come and join most of us in the real world please.

When exactly has the BBC ever covered up anything to do with the EU ? How many of the commercial stations give any airtime to the minor parties, UKIP members have been on programmes like question time time and time again, they even allowed nick griffin on there against a wave of public oppinion in the name of giving him a voice as a state broadcaster should do, while the main political parties were baracking them left right and center for doing what they really should.

So how by giving UKIP a voice that it gets nowhere else is the BBC promoting a cover up with regards to the EU ? Except to sadly show just how uneducated and idiotic these people actually are.

I don't see what the problem paying for the BBC is, they produce a lot of programmes that just wouldn't make it onto commercial tv, the likes of the history of science, wonders of the solar system and universe, etc, etc. Anyone seen any programmes of this caliber on ITV ? The only issue i have with the BBC is that they don't go far enough for my liking, there is far too much LCD crap on the telly, but then if they didn't the general ****tards that inhabit this country would be moaning that the BBC doesn't show enough bullshit like the only way is essex. So sadly they have to show a lot of it, as like the NOTW it sppeals to a lot of people.

Have you ever seen what totally comercialised news looks like ? Watch the US news and it's complete shite, i can get more information about what is actually going on in the US by watching the bloody BBC and reading the world news segment of the TImes than i can by watching CNN and Fox news etc. The only reason Sky news and ITV and Channel 4's news is so good is because they have to compete with the BBC to make it viable, take that out and you end up with wall to wall rubbish.

:winner_third_h4h: Yes....I just love a good soap box rant. UKIP actually gets a voice on Youtube, Russia Today and various American TV channels. That's the only reason I know how great a politician Nigel Farage is. His enlightened tirades against the likes of Gordon Brown, Catherine Ashton, Angela Merkel, Tony Blair, Herman von Rumpoy etc are the stuff of legend. Never shown on BBC though. I agree with you that the BBC are superb with education type programmes. Behold, Nigel Farage in action - the stuff of legend.........
