22A Posted August 20, 2011 Report Share Posted August 20, 2011 Bit long winded, but this is a gripe I put on the BB forum a few years ago when that older woman and the twins were in it; The original concept of BB was interesting; stick a group ofstrangers together for a period of time, throw them a weekly challenge whichrequires them to cooperate and stand back to watch. The original BB wasinteresting because of that; now TV reinstate some who've been evicted andchoose House Mates not at random but those who "will make good TV". I'm also disappointed with increased editing each year. That original BB showedit as it happened including some of the ladies sunbathing topless in the middleof the afternoon (which for British TV was surprising and didn't result in anycomplaints). Next year when 3 women shared a bath one night that went out live! Also that first year by pressing the red button you the viewercould choose from which of 8 cameras you wished to view the HMs. That facilityhas long gone. Series 5 was when they all went topless mud wrestling so we were shown a liveclose up of the fridge door, although the mud wrestling was shown 24 hourslater on the highlights programme. Last year a HM asked "How many sugarsin your coffee" but you couldn't hear the reply as the sound was cut! Alsothere were shouts, screams, shrieks and laughter coming from the garden, soobviously something interesting was happening, but we were shown one personstanding in the kitchen for an hour. 1st night the year during their intros the sound was cut twice for some reasonbut not when anyone swore - why? Apart from the sound edits, we've also had aclose up of the kettle. The inmates, sorry house mates have also changed in character. Only a few yearsago everyone showered together quite openly; last year it was one at a time andthey (male & female) put swimming costumes on to prevent anyone seeinganything. 2004 remember that wedding with Victor, Jason, Nadia and Michelle that ended ita mass punch up? Before it the blokes had to act as male strippers for the hennight and then the girls were given a pole to strip round for the stag night. This year they've had a mock wedding and three of the girls were not asked tostrip, but called to the diary room where they were issued Bunny Girl outfits.Bear in mind these people volunteered to go on BB, they came out with suchcomments as "I'm not wearing that just to give the blokes cheapthrill" and most amazing of all "I'm not making an exhibition ofmyself". <br style="mso-special-character: line-break;"><br style="mso-special-character: line-break;"> I reckon there's a no nudity rule been introduced since a fewyears ago when that Kinga woman stuck a bottle up and that Makosi had sex inthe pool. Last year and so far this not even topless sunbathing and when male or femaleare changing underwear, if it's shown, the HMs do it under a towel or dressinggown. Can you imagine any of the HMs from the first few years doing that? Channel 4; either show everything live as it happens (and therest of the world do) or just put on a 30 minute edited highlight prog everyother day. Better still, BB wakes up all house mates at say 8.00am andinforms them "Today is world naturism day as a result ALL HMs are bannedfrom wearing all items of clothing for the next 24 hours".
