You sure this isn't another guy? Top prem footballer, multi million pound deal etc?

There was a huge story about a Premier League footballer having an affair, then the big reveal turned out to be Gary Flitcroft.... If it was a really really big star we'd have had the Giggs situation.

Yes he was in a multi-million pound deal. A pretty big one too. But that still doesnt make him one of the big name players.

And as someone previously mentioned, if he really was one of the bigger stars then Im sure this would have come out long before now.

Does his first name start with an "A"?

I was reading a Spurs forum earlier and the Mods were under the impression it was of there players but wouldn't give the name out just in case :dunno: All they said was theres only 1 "E" in their name :dunno:

Assou-Ekotto? (I'm not saying this is who it is just a blind guess.)

So the fact that for instance some players are never tested and the average test is once every 2 years, the FA and selling clubs don't have to disclose that a player has been banned for drugs, that the club and FA collude in making up stories as to why players are unavailable to play because of covert bans, the fact that in the case of the steroids players A and B the tester actually needed more samples but the FA cleared the players without any explanation is not of any interest?.

The FA obviously dosen't want players to be caught and probably why most football drug cheats are not caught and certainly not dealt with as severely as drugs cheats in other sports.

Was it eight months that Ferdinand got for just missing the test ? Makes you think there's something in it when Ferguson says Man Utd are picked upon.

Complete non-story. The papers will sensationalize anything. Most of these guys are in their twenties, I'm sure there are a few Prem players who've had a sniff before. It's nothing to get excited about.

Would you feel the same had BCFC paid good money for a player who had tested positive for cocaine and the selling club and the FA who have already colluded to cover this up and then believe that it is OK for the buying club not to be let in to this secret?.

Fair point, I didn't didn't realise that the incident had been covered up by the selling club and the FA. You're right, the club should probably have been informed.

I know from someone who used to work in corporate hospitality at a former Premier League club in Yorkshire who had success in the Champions League about 10 years ago, that use of a white, powdery recreational drug was common in the toilets of the players lounge after matches- even when directors, etc, were present. There were 2 well-known indivduals in particuar who had a 'problem' with it, though i suspect naming them directly would result in this post disappearing quicker than our Championship status
