Very good interview with Cisse by Bean Head. Says his season has really just started, that he is a competitor & now has the chance to express himself.

Hated sitting in the stands not being involved and would have definitely been looking to move on in Jan if he wasn't playing.

Bit of a cliche, but having him back is as important as a new signing. Can't believe he was overlooked by Keef so regularly.

Fully expect him to keep turning in some performances - a very good player to have back in the side.

Millen, in my opinion, was nothing more then a Johnson clone. Except with less charisma!

A good player in the easier defensive play but like Elliott a drag in constructive offensive play where they are more or less useless. Hard to accommodate more than one of them to play attractive football

Cisse played a defensive midfield role for Reading and its a surprise that Millen didn't feel he'd be usual there and thereby allowing Killkenny to play further up the pitch. That's immediately what McInnes did and its made a difference. Fresh idea's and all that.

Some struggling managers can't see the woods for the trees and Millen did stick with the same players in the same formations for too long. Judging from Cisse's interview it seems there was some kind of problem between him and Millen.

Nice he is back. Before the season started I was thinking that Cisse should be one of our keyplayers. Now when he is in the starting 11 I think he will do a very good job for City.

I think most people could see Cisse had to sit behind marv and Killkenny apart from Kieth.

Is a football managers job any different to that in any other business?

You can fall out with an employee for lots of reasons but if you have plenty of other people to cover him you can carry on and cut him out of your plans.

But as a football manager what is more important, the benefit of that player to your struggling team or your credability in the dressing room?

Keith was wrong!

Playing a championship quality holding midfielder in his position has improved us, who'da thunk it? Honestly only Keith and Mr Wiggly didn't.

Not quite true, Wiggles picked him as soon as Millen was sacked, it was only Millen that had the problem with him, Wiggly could see him for what he was worth and picked him immediately.

We'll never know things like this. Under the management team of Millen and Wigley CIsse wasn't picked consistantly. We don't know and will never know what these guys individually thought.

However, we played him a few times in pre season at centre back, preferred Cole Skuse in his position and ended up bottom of the table, so yeah, I don't see that managements team as having any logical defense as to not picking him.

The problem most have with Millen over Cisse, was that having by design or luck started playing him in his "best" role of holding midfielder, in our revival in February / March this year it was obvious to most as it should have been to a "professional" that one solution do our defensive frailities was to play the guy. That is now water under the bridge and thankfully Cisse is back in situ and lets hope the upturn continues :fingerscrossed:
