Stephen Lewis
Didn't Coppell recommend that Millen was a suitable replacement for himself to our then chairman.
Lita For Congo
Didn't Coppell recommend that Millen was a suitable replacement for himself to our then chairman. I dont think he did, however, if he did, shows what a bellend the man was/is. I think Millen got the job because of his performance in the caretaker role after GJ left. Chappers
Not sure what the problem is. Johnson stayed loyal to certain players for far too long and signed far too many overpaid journeymen. Coppell signed some absolute rubbish that have been poor value, Adomah excepted. Cisse is OK, James un-necessary and longer term Henderson would have been a better bet. Millen sorted out the mess up to a point, but totally lost his way this season. Not really any one manager to blame.
redsquirrel
were any conclusions ever reached as to why johnson lost the dressing room??
SammyJankis
Adomah thanked Coppell for bringing him to City at last seasons Awards night. Coppell was getting pelters all night so fair play to Adomah for speaking up.
Red-Robbo
As far as I'm concerned droning Scouse slaphead Steve Copout can take a running jump off Weston pier. His "I've lost the passion for the job" ****wittery put us in a tailspin which we're only just pulling out of.
Chappers
The other thing that gets overlooked is SL finally tightening the belt. Having watched Johnson and Coppell waste quite a few million on rubbish players (Mostly wages rather than fees), to little effect, he quite rightly decided a more sensible approach was needed. RedWitch
Like previous posters I am still staggered that we go on about Coppell. Yes, he signed a couple of good players, a couple of wastes of space but we have to get over it and move on under the almighty DDs
