Car Insurance

Just reading about Chris Eagles of Bolton being caught doing 60mph in a 40 limit whilst on his mobile phone in his Bentley, the story said he already had a conviction for no insurance. I am amazed how many Premier League millionaires have been done for driving a car with no insurance, they can afford the cars but not the insurance apparently, perhaps they need inflation busting pay rises the poor dears.

The problem is the current generation of footballers tend to be thick. Giving too much money to thick people is a recipe for disaster. We need to go back to apprentices cleaning the first teamers boots, whitewashing walls etc give the all some perspective.

Lateral thinking; if you go without claims you get a discount. Why does that not apply to life insurance?

More seriously; I wish we had the same insurance laws as Germany. There is no such thing as an accident; either you or the other guy broke the law. One day a biker pulled out in front of me and went under my Ford Escort. The Police measured the skid mark and asked why had I braked. I was on the main road and thus had right of way. As it was an Escort I had to take the car to a Ford dealer for repairs. The bill went straight to the biker's insurance company, my own policy remained intact. Whilst the car was off the road, I was able to hire a replacement and the bill for that again went straight to his insurers.

Insurance, road tax & MOT; over there to get any one of those, you have to show the other two, so no uninsured drivers.

EDR got pulled last year driving a friends car. EDR was insured through his own fully comp insurance but because his insurance was for a 1400cc and the car he was driving was higher (1600cc i think) the copper said he could do him for driving with no insurance.

The copper let him off due to it being a new law at the time but it can easily happen.

Yes of course it is, insurance documents only need to read when you are making a claim, really.
