123456789000
Would love to see people posting good odds on here. It's a thing I've seen on other forums and think it'd be great if we could get a good thread going on here. Just if anybody see's some interesting odds, stick 'em on here, help some fellow city fans make a few quid. Also does anyone know of a site where it's possible to vote for club players of the season? Think there'd be some money to be made there.
screech
The last betting thread we had on here was just after Mcinnes joined us and we were on that run. I think I vaguely recall a few lunatics lumping a lot of dough on City getting promoted at about 50/
Dave Youell
I'm still bitter about losing out by 24 for Millen to get sacked at 8-1. Steve Maclaren has alot to answer for!
123456789000
I think I've had my fair share of betting luck, I may as well give up now. Won a £1 accumulator last February at 1823/1: Carlos Tevez to score in first 20 minutes, Theo Walcott to score in first 20 minutes, Rafael van der Vaart to score in first 20 minutes. One of the best days of my life seeing those goals come in.

Randy Marsh
If you're after free money then I'd go for: Newcastle Blackpool Shrewsbury Swindon All at home and playing very beatable opposition. The Red Planet
Betting is a Mug's game - unless you own the business. The odds are stacked against the average punter. Many years ago I was a student in Coventry and I shared a rented flat with some other guys above an independent bookmakers shop. From our front room we could see the punters turning up on foot or on their bikes. From the kitchen at the back we could see down onto the rear parking area (behind high locked gates) where the bookie kept his new Jaguar car. The bookie will always win - over time. You may have the odd win, but you will never beat them over the long haul.

Great fun pissing away your hard earned cash ! Having said all that, I confess I do occasionally buy tickets for the National and EuroMillions lotteries when they are on rollover. Mad Cyril
Some fantastic wins mentioned on here, well done chaps. That said, you only tend to hear stories of winning bets from gambling. Everyone else stays quiet. I can come clean and say that I have never won a penny betting on football, but have lost on many an occasion. My advice - never bet the cash for your last beer....that really spoils the day.

Frank Mir
been on a winning streak ever since synchronised @ cheltenham.... a couple lucky football ones, lampard first scorer and 2-1 agains benfica 28/1 and some accumulators. lumped on man u and newcastle a few times havent let me down yet. got money on bubba, oouizthuizen* and mickleson. the big moneys on bubba though.. my tip would be lump on newcastle tomorrow, and if u can find something similar to balotelli back to italy. screech
Ok lets hear about the horror stories of when you've gone big on a dead cert and lost. There must be someone on here who has had an awkward moment telling the missus? I'm not that person by the way because the biggest bet I've ever had was £2 at Anfield. Stevie Mcmanaman won me £16 for first scorer.

Stevie Mcmanaman won me £16 for first scorer. How about £300 in the casino after promising not to go? That was a fun filled following day. Funny how there's no moaning when I had £20 e/w on Synchronised and it bought a rather nice evening out. £50 to enter a poker tournament, all in on trip kings first hand and beaten by a full house, oh dear! No buy ins, what's all that about? £50 brag game back room of the local, blind man can't see an open one etc, lost the lot to me best mate. Still, he bought me a couple of pints later on. As a rule though I do manage to stick to a gambling budget either at the races or the casino, when it is gone it is gone.
