'arry For England

Thing is everyone wants an Englishman but who is there other than him if we are to go down that route?

But does everyone want an Englishman?? This surely is just a media thing because they want Redknapp. All the best teams in England are managed by foreigners so who says the fans aren't happy with one for England.

The major stumbling block is that our players aren't good enough,so who ever is in charge doesn't stand a chance of winning anything.

If anyone would rather have Redknapp than Mourinho they genuinely need to visit their doctor.

Haha true. But don't think Jose will do it in a million years. If we want an Englishman who else is there other than Redknapp? Hodgson maybe but not sure which of those is the lesser of two evils.

I can't wait for him to get the England job. A piss poor performance in the euro's will be justified by the media as being the fault of the fa/Capello for not giving him the required time to get to know the squad.

This will be followed by a lame qualifying campaign and a disastrous world cup in brasil (if we actually get there).

I might revisit that thread from a couple of months ago where a load of people were adamant that there was no other credible option. You will end up with the manager you all deserve.

No-one, which is why they will go for Mourinho. Unlike Sven and Fabio, Jose has managed in England before AND has been successful plus he speaks fluent British lingo. Add to that the fact that when Madrid win the Champions League he will be the first manager ever to have won the 'European' cup with three different sides. The FA simply MUST get this man in. He will win us a World cup.

Yeah you are right but still, being the biggest footballing national its a pretty poor show we don't have an Englishman up to the job! I don't want a foreigner again after the debacle of Capello.

He won't do it.

Sorry to disagree, but England won't win a world cup, you have to have very very good players to do that!

Jose, can't sign foreign players for England :-).

By the way, Barcelona will win the Champions league anyway!!

Worrying thing was yet again he makes a tactical switch at 2 1 down and they lose 5 1. Just don't think he's the answer for England.

Agree to a point , but the ref won that game for Chelsea. Cech should have been sent off and the second Chelse goal was not over the line and Terry fouled in the build up. He's not the best manager in the world , I'll give you that , but if the FA are determined to appoint an Englishman , the only other viable option is Alan Pardew.

He will. He loves a challenge and there is no greater one than England. If the FA come knocking he will jump at the chance. The man's a genius.

Already came out last time he was linked with it and said the only national team he would manage is Portugal at the end of his career. Even so if he can't beat Barca with Madrid, what chance has he got of beating the likes of Spain with England? Granted he is the best man for the job, and is a genius. But it wont guarantee anything.

The problem is god himself wouldn't be the answer for England. The whole English system is setup to ensure we get no international success.

Couldn't believe it on BBC News earlier when pundits were saying that after Redknapp, having Hoddle back as manager would be one of the next best options!

Hoddle's record ON the pitch wasn't actually that bad for England, it was his views OFF it (and the predictable media-storm allied to it) that led to his departure.

England won't win a major trophy, whoever the manager is, years, maybe decades away from Spain, Holland, Germany, Brazil, Argentina.

The choice of English managers is poor, however so is the quality and depth of the national squad.

There's a big difference in being patriotic, to being naive and blinkered.

I look forward to the Sun and it's mongy readers getting their way.

His Spurs team have taken some utter hammerings this season, and his track record of major honours is one FA cup.

His team competes with clubs that have champions league budgets.

Doing a fine job at spurs

. Aside from Brazil all of those nations have had some considerable downs in the last 20 years,, Spain especially.

It all comes down to luck in having a golden generation. Look at France

So it's all about players and not the manager ? May as well give Harry the job then.
