Hard to judge as he didn't have to make any kind of save at all, apart from the one that went in. Although you can't blame him for that, that was partly Foster's and Skuse's fault.

Not saying Gerken is better, but Gerken may have kept a clean sheet in that match - and he definitely wouldn't have kicked the ball out at every attempt.

Time will tell; undecided on him at the moment. Let's wait and see when he's challenged.

He actually made a pretty good save not long before they scored. The most impressive thing was the way he communicated with his back four, and as for his kicking, when was the last time we had a 'keeper who could kick? At least he connected properly everytime, even his bad ones that went straight out of play went miles.

Gerken wouldn't of kept a clean sheet, nothing anyone could of done about the goal, defence just switched off for a second. Not sure what you mean by he didn't have a save to make as a saw two really good saves from. And again his kicking? i thought it was really good, didn't scuff the ball and always cleared it well

Made two very good saves, had no chance with the goal. Palace charged down a number of his clearances and a slippy surface doesn't help. His presence around his area was fantastic, acting as a sweeper on a couple of occasions to full effect. Great handling also.

He seems to have a sense of confidence around him that we've been missing in a keeper for years. Very commanding of the defence as well, which again we've been missing. Oh and he seems like a really humble guy in his interview.

Anybody noticed that all of our signings come across very well in their interviews? Hopefully a good sign.
