cheese
I know there have been discussions on here in the past about how footballers have "made it" financially and will never have to work again. But for the vast majority it's not like that. Interesting piece by Ben Smith http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19389153 Started at Arsenal but mostly played in the lower divisions. CyderInACan
Didn't Clayton turn down a move to (I think) PNE when they were in the Championship? Chose to stay at City, which looking back, may have cost him a few quid.

And us, deal potentially worth 400K. http://www.bcfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10327~539421,00.html
CyderInACan
Strange; for a player that hadn't requested a transfer, surely he'd have got (i) paid off by us & (ii) a decent signing on fee at PNE. Especially strange that he had the chance to play at a higher level but turned it down to "fight" for first XI place. (ie. wasn't an automatic choice). Clayton - if you're reading this - why!!!???? TinnionForEngland
Seriously? Yep, he only plays for Mangotsfield now after not long being released by Aldershot, seems to have plummeted massively.
