chinapig
Alan Dicks could choose 2 centre backs from David Rodgers, Gary Collier, Geoff Merrick and Norman Hunter, with 3 of them home grown. Compare and contrast with the current crop. Nostalgia's not what it used to be.
Eco
Been watching since '82 and my favourite seasons were 06/07,07/08. That squad was something special.
ashton_fan
Doubt it was even that much. I've still got my Chelsea F.A. Cup ticket from 1990. £4 for an adult in the Enclosure and I'm pretty sure they increased the usual price for the match. Always worth seeing again: http://youtu.be/8wVOholx-N8
New Dazzler
I would say Akinibyi was one of our best forwards in the last 20 years, mostly playing in a struggling team though, where we needed to score at least 3 goals to win a game (seems familiar? )
GrahamC
Alan Dicks could choose 2 centre backs from David Rodgers, Gary Collier, Geoff Merrick and Norman Hunter, with 3 of them home grown. Compare and contrast with the current crop. Nostalgia's not what it used to be. See that's where no-one can argue. Those four played at the top flight of English football, none of those named since ever did so for us and even Shaun Taylor, bless him, who was great for us (but in the third tier) had one season in the highest level and his side let in 100! Some of those named by the OP are simply laughable, scroll back to those times and you'd have found loads of threads about what wasters Peacock, Roberts, Coles, etc were and along with Gerry Harrison (!) no way were they as good as many even in our current much maligned squad. City1970
Martin Scott was my favourite city left back. Better than Bell and Brennan imo Agree, Barnard was good as well.
