TRL Posted January 15, 2013 Report Share Posted January 15, 2013 I am sure the kid wanted to be a good footballer, not be overweight and injured, 25k a weeks is a nice amount, but if the kid loves playing football, which I am guessing he does, these constant injuries have to be a killer, I do feel for the lad, even if he ws on mega bucks. Night84 Posted January 15, 2013 Report Share Posted January 15, 2013 By all accounts Michael Johnson had a couple of injuries in 2009 and became overweight when not training because he was in the casino all night. Then he didn't have the right attitude to get back to fitness and fight his way back into a team which in the meantime had become the galacticos mark 2. Even if you're technically fit it is extremely easy to get niggling injuries if you're overweight, spending all night on the booze and generally lazy on the training field. Man City medical staff couldn't find a thing wrong with him towards the end but he constantly complained of not being fit. This was due to him being unfit and tired After his drink driving offence they offered to tear up his contract with severance pay but he said no and wanted to remain picking up his weekely wages and not playing. Hmm I don't spend loads of time in casinos or nightclubs & I don't lock myself in a room either..... Tv, cinema, computer games, heaven forbid coaching badges ala Chris Coleman??
