of course not. but then not many are. to be remembered for your football - beyond your own club's supporters - you have to be beyond world class and make a lasting impact on the pitch. that's not something that all but a microscopic percentage of top flight footballers will achieve.

fair play to barton, a lot of what he does is, at best, suspect and questionable, but at a time when the game is defined by blank faces he is at least forthright in his opinions - and even, on occasion, highly amusing. wish he'd stop it with all the Castro and Morrisey quotes though. He ain't fooling no-one.

My problem is simply this, for every intelligent quote he makes (more often than not in a pre written newspaper piece), is then wasted when he has to be spontaneous especially on twitter, some of the pathetic name calling a young kid in the playground wouldn't lower themselves to, which sometimes leads me to suspect whether if the intelligent stuff comes from another source.
