wayne allisons tongues
What are the rules for keepers. Both goalies had same kit on yesterday, shouldn't they be differant? Not sure what rule is but if one went up for a corner end of game would of been confusing.
Always Believesham
I think it's down to the referee; it did take me till 60 mins to find the difference though, boro's Steele had Orange socks on, Heaton had white ones on.
KeNDAILIL
Maybe it's because we and boro have either the orange keeper kit or light blue, but boro's outfield players were wearing light blue therefore both wore orange..

Steele also had short sleeves (Buffon style!)
Big Joe
at grass roots level the refs are very hot on the keepers having diff shirt colours
wayne allisons tongues
Never seen 2 keepers for a while now in same colour shirts. Wasn't sure there was a rule or not. Sunday footy refs are hot on goalies tops not matching.
BS3_RED
All keepers used to wear green with one or two exceptions. Never used to be a problem.
Big Joe
i always thought it odd that our keeper wears orange at home with the rest of the team in red, granted not the same colour but i thought keepers had to be in a completly diff colour? Robbored
Both Boro and City have the same shirt maker Adidas. Just different colors but same design. That's why the keepers had the same shirt and shorts but different socks.
jambodinho
Refs at county level have made our gk change his top before because it was the same colour as the other teams gk top. He explained that if one keeper were to go up for a corner it would be hard to tell the difference between the 2. Not sure if this is an official rule or just for his own preference. I guess if Heaton went up and challenged Steele at a corner and punched the ball in the net the ref could get a bit confused.
