Milo
We last won a league title in the 1954/5 season. Before then you need to go back another 28 years to 1926/7. Having entered a league of around 24 teams each year since 1955 the law of averages says we should have a won a league title two more times over that period. The fact we have gone so long without winning the main competition we enter can be matched by only around half a dozen other football clubs. It’s a long non-winning streak that risks seeing an increasing number of our supporters die without ever seeing the team achieve what we set out to achieve each season. No wonder we moan so much. It’s hard to stay positive with so much ingrained expectation of failure amongst those of us still able to get out and cheer on the team. Throughout that 86 year period there has been one City kit that stands out as different from all the others. A kit worn for one season only and has never been repeated. A kit that like the fiery robin itself accentuates the red breast. And it’s the one that we wore as Champions in 1954/5. Can only the second City team in history to have white sleeves deliver the same success as Jack White, Earnie Peacock and John Atyeo did all those years ago? Always believe. Does anyone know why the Robin was our badge in the first place? Obviously we are the robins but was there any discussion with the fans back then about it? Because the crest before then was our badge for a good 50 years.

fatchers
If you think we have it bad, spare a thought to Accrington Stanley, Aldershot ,Colchester,Crewe Alex,Hartlepool.Rochdale,Torquay or Wycombe, from the more established league sides. They have NEVER won their leagues. Blackpool have been waiting since 1929/30 to win a title. Tranmere have been waiting since 1937/38. Our Last Title was indeed in 54/55 but I would'nt have swopped it for that win against Portsmouth that took City back up to the TOP division again ,for our Second spell at the top table. Something the gash can only dream about.
fatchers
Although it may seem like ,nit-pickin, if you go back 86 years to 1927 you will see that we have won TWO not one titles. Add those(1927 + 1955) to 1906 and 1923 that makes a sad four titles. But TWICE as many as the gash, and they've never been in the top division. We have , TWICE. (With the exception of it's colour)! = 1901-1903 - The coat of arms 50 years before the Robin. Also the Robin has served as our badge for around a total of around 20 years with the crest being almost double of that.
