Triangles

Nothing new about trianglles in football. Spurs used to play this way in the 1950s. In those days it was just called "push and run". That's far too simple a description in today's world but it accurately describes what it's all about.

What the hell?

Playing simple passing football is a joy to watch pass and move is the mantra, playing in neat triangles if you will, but what are triangles and how are they relevant to what we are to trying to achieve well there are 3 main types of triangles

Equilateral Triangle
Isosceles Triangle
Scalene Triangle

The equilateral triangle is well exactly that all the sides are equal (not true in football as the gash are rubbish) and all the angles are equal what can we learn from this particular triangle well maybe we shouldn't underestimate any one this season.

The isosceles triangle is an triangle that have two sides of equal measure and a third side of undetermined length (not to sure I can find a football reference here but it's a triangle none the less and therefore had to be mentioned)

The scalene triangle is the one we will most likely be seeing this coming season, this triangles side of each of unequal length as each player should keep moving to receive and move the ball around each side of the triangle they make should be different. The real fun begins when they start to make reparative scalene triangles
(Then we should create a lot of space this way)

In conclusion triangles are going to be a big part of next season and this club has been going backwards for the last few seasons we need to turn it 180 degrees which coincidently adds up to all the total internal angles together!

What the hell.. triangles

Is this about the tired Barca/Spain love in with Inesita, Xavi and Biscuits ball hogging like pros and playing 3 man piggy in the middle and passing it off as football?

Not impressed at all, I want by football with pace and aggression, players running full tilt and men twice the size, the ability to pass the ball further than 2 mtr

The Spanish style of football reflects Spain as a country in some aspects, lazy, prone to cheating, boring.

Good luck teaching footballers geometry otherwise, but not sure what Steven Hawking et al can bring to the table

Anyone else remember Sporting Triangles?

I think Jimmy Tarbuck might have hosted it.

Wasn't it Dickie Davies? Seem to remember going to a recording of it in the '80s at HTV.

Or maybe that was some other low budget, low quality sport themed game-show from the 80s and early 90s.

That's right.

What we need is the 'bulldog spirit' thats made this country the footballing powerhouse that it is today.

Who needs technique when you can kick the ball hard and run fast?

Turns out the first couple of series of Sporting Triangles was hosted by Nick Owen. The Saint and Greavsie were team captains.

Tarbuck hosted the short lived golfing game show 'full swing'.

Not sure our fans will tolerate this for long. Even at the Reading game, as the ball was being passed along the back four, back to the keeper, along the back four again, into midfield where Killkenny turned and passed it back to Flint, where it all began again, I heard more than one shout of Get It Forward. Seems that nearly all our pre season games have ended 1-0 or 0-0 and I'm not sure that our fans are patient enough to sit through 90 minutes of that every week.

Lets try some 'triangle jokes':

What did the hypotenuse say to the other sides? Nice legs!

They say opposites attract. I guess they're right because I noticed today that a cute angle is complementary to one that is obtuse.

If I told you that my two partners were 27 degrees and 63 degrees, would I be right?

Q. What triangle comes from a socialist country?
A. An equilateral one.

Q. What dances did the twins isoceles triangle excel at?
A. The rhombus, of course.

But we created more chances against Reading and Bournemouth - Reid, Adomah and Baldock all should have taken their chances yesterday and Baldock not even getting his one v one against Reading on target was shocking. Also had a couple more chances in that game. There's been way more purpose AND attractiveness about our play last two games.
