James O'connor - Trial

Always thought it was a matter of time before we were linked with O’Connor, played for S’OD at Bournemouth, left for Doncaster where S’OD joined him soon after. Predominantly a right back but can play in the centre. Will be used to S’ODs philosophies and style straight away so shouldn’t take much time to gel in.

Guessing there would be a fee involved as he was transfer listed by Derby in the summer unless they are looking to cut wages and will let him go for nothing…

Coppinger was at Donny. According to Soccerbase was G O'Connor playing for Bournemouth that night and he got both goals? Gareth his name was, went to Burnley after.

N Moss, F Simek, E Howe, M Mills , S Purches, G O'Connor, J Spicer, B Stock, W Elliott (M Browning, 89), S Fletcher, J Hayter

Our team that night: S Phillips (S Golbourne, 90), J Smith, L Carey, D Coles , M Bell, S Murray, T Doherty , S Brown, J Keith (D Cotterill, 62), L Lita, S Brooker (P Heffernan, 65)

The reason are full backs have looked poor is they have Ben over exposed with us not playing with any width... When we went 442 in the 2nd half on Saturday both Maloney and especially Cunningham looked much better.

Spot on. Same old problems for us. Still not strong enough in the middle to play 4-4-2 so end up packing middle of the park.

Maloney has been defensively very poor this season.

Many a left midfielder has gone past him and put a cross in.

Both have been very poor following on from last seasons debacle.

When you consider our recent defensive disasters it seemed surprising that 3 of that back four started the first three games of the season.
