UREDS_91
Did anyone notice out new corner routines last night. Thought the way that we mixed them up and kept palace guessing was brilliant. Reid, Bryan and JET all taking them, with several indicators for each corner routine. 3 bounces of the ball for front post. 2 hands in the air for back post etc... Well worked from the training ground.

Well worked from the training ground. SoD said in his post match interview that he allows the players to work out their own corner routines and when to use them. Responsibility he calls it and that City should have scored from the first corner of the night.
Major Isewater
Did we score from one ? More work to do i think but moving in the right direction
WolfOfWestStreet
Must admit I hate short corners. Almost always a waste of a good situation.
Always Believesham
I thought they'd looked at set pieces in training - as a way of trying to catch Palace if they were any good and we had to rely on set pieces. I liked the floated to the back post and headed back accross goal routine as players get sucked in to ball watching and anyone can cause mayhem when it comes back. JET's throw works like a corner too which causes panic when a defender wants to clear the ball - this is an asset and thankfully not one we rely entirely on! bcfctim
Must admit I hate short corners. Almost always a waste of a good situation. Yeah the amount of times we take it short only for it to be blocked or tackled is infuriating.
BRISTOL86
The first one early on where JET was totally unmarked was brilliant, anytime JET gets the ball in the box you (and he!) think he's going to score!

Flint gets really pissed if they don't whip it in it him. Agree you need variety as we had quite a few corners but short ones always seem to get blocked or tacked, and their goalie was awful. Alex_BCFC
Short corners are awful and the only time I can remember us doing anything useful was a Jamie McCallister screamer a few years back.
Lrrr
Don't like short corners either. Heard a few moans around me when Bryan took the first corner and it went along the ground, no one saw JET moving into position.
54-46
Haven't seen us utilise "the weasel" for a while now - a la Palace away in the play offs when Carey scored. I think that's what they called it anyway?

Nibor
We've been impotent from corners since the McCombe days so creativity here is very welcome. Interested to see the results of it.

Aizoon
I sometimes feel that we score fewer from corners than we concede from breakaways. Prolly just paranoia mind...
kelbcfc
i reckon that alan skirton should take the corners, put the ball around the penalty spot for john galley to nod home.
foghornred
We hardly look like scoring from a corner, last season we needed over 50 corners for one goal. Its all about delivery as shown by Cardiff against Man City,at pace in dangerous areas. bcfctim
One thing I've noticed being in the Eastend - it looks so awkward to take corners at the gate. Pitch slopes down towards the billboards and there's barely any room for a run up. Could be a reason we always seem so ineffective from them.
