Harry Posted September 2, 2013 Report Share Posted September 2, 2013 I'll reprint what I said on the deadline day thread : Stephen Mclaughlin is a player I've been watching for a while. He stood out for Derry over the last couple of seasons before Forest took him on trial last November, along with Barry McNamee. They signed McLaughlin permanently, paying a pretty decent fee, but didn't take McNamee, even though they both REALLY impressed. He's a left winger for those not aware of him. Now, bear in mind that the scouting of these 2, the decision to take them on trial, and the decision to sign McLaughlin were all taken when Burt, SOD and Pemberton were all at the Forest. The new management team at Forest haven't given him a 1st team shot yet, so it wouldn't be a surprise as our 3 wise-men will know exactly what the lad's situation is. Shorey and Greg are full backs. Bryan has already had to miss a game with a knock, not going to last in this league with a wafer thin squad playing square pegs in round holes!
