Crowd Trouble

Mad mad day, will never see the likes of that again.

Other than Reading, probably the most crazy day ever.

My fault really though, climbing the fence at the front wasn't a good idea, especially with a snarling police dog jumping up at it.

Oh the joys of yuuuuf.

May 83,that was what you call crowd trouble!

A small group of City had a good time drinking at the Polish Club in Swindon and arrived at the game 15 minutes late.

They were allowed into the Swindon end unchallenged by either Police or opposing fans.

This didn't last long.

A plain-clothes Plod posing as a fan tried to befriend them and was told, in no uncertain terms, to do one. The little weasel quickly summoned reinforcements and the City mob was surrounded by police with dogs. Plod couldn't take them to the opposite end which was packed and highlyvolatile; didn't evict them cos they probably didn't have enough resources or they had nowhere to put them. Solution - leave them where they are and "under control". Haha!

Then everything kicked off at the other end.

I'll leave it at that.

big fight outside the train station, 3 people got nicked, rest escaped, we were stood there watching it for a good few minutes, before the police eventually turned up.

Slight exaggeration. The escort was a f ** king nonsense and inevitably after an hour when we were still not allowed into the station a fair bit of shoving led to some minor spats between fans and Police. Easily avoidable, but then this is nothing new.

The tossers throwing rocks etc at those windows should really try and turn their 2 brain cells on sometimes.

Hundreds of city fans walking underneath windows, others throwing rocks at windows. Presumably the intention is to smash the glass.

Result is shards of glass falls onto our own fans and then glass/rocks hit some poor **** in the face.

Genius.

No biggie but thought it was a good natured walk back in the escort, although not entirely sure how we ended up in there, it seemed to be the unlucky ones.

The problems arose when we got to the station and people were impatient to leave. Que shoving at the police lining the entrance and police shoving back.

Whilst acknowledging it wasn't us at the front pushing them, the police were quite happy to try to throw us back into others behind - it was silly and badly handled. Us at the front were simply told to tell 'our mates' to stop pushing whilst squashed up against police in riot gear.

Compared to Cardiff where it was an arse to get on the train but well drilled it was a shambles.
