Baring in mind he is on a 2 year deal and the club will have to accept a fee to stop him leaving on a free.....same goes for Baldock. Pack and Wynter.... Those players go, what happens to the "transition", more players come in taking more time to gel. This transition talk is a load of BS, simply because a lot of the new players were signed on short deals..... thats part of it not long deals and high wages, do you know what were trying to achive? And Johnson got us promoted on a much reduced budget after Wilson spent a fortune failing to do so. I sometimes wonder what the current equivalent would be of the £600k we spent on Peacock for instance. And can we stop talking as if FFP only applies to us? Wolves have an advantage due to parachute payments (despite the fact that Jackett claimed at the start of the season that they would be relying on kids) and Posh have the money they got for Gayle. Otherwise we seem to be on a pretty level playing field. Why didn't we use any of Albert's milk money then, unless it went into wages and Flint? Did Lansdown want it back? The Right Honourable Les Q Posted September 23, 2013 Report Share Posted September 23, 2013 There is a danger in lowering expectations too much, leading to an acceptance of too many years floundering, festering, at this level. Being too down beat could rebound on us. It is a fineline to be drawn. A club at this level selling as many season tickets as we did, and attracting five figure crowds, following a relegation, needs to workout how to use that to its advantage over what, 19/ 20 other clubs nowhere near enjoying that sort of clout. Okay, we got a few highly paid players still to shift, but when this is done, surely to G, we gotta find a way to throw our weight around and be determined.
