glastonred
Am I right in thinking that one of our old players, Brian Wilson, still plays for Colchester? I think he joined them after he left City. That was ages ago. If I remember rightly he came to us from Cheltenham, and at first glance seemed a fast running winger, who before too long, just seemed to fade into obscurity, and some of us even forgot he still played for us; and then he was off....Anyone got any memories of his time with us? Bowie
Never amazing, never dreadful. Just a good solid pro that sloted into the team all over the place without really ever making a position his own.

Carey 6
I remember him scoring, wheeling away taking his shirt off & the goal bein disallowed! Also the 0-0 at Leicester where he hit a carbon copy of Lampards against Germany. Less the said about that game the better, dunno how we got a point out of that one! westred1
Only memory of Brian Wilson is the Rotherham game. Wondering around on the pitch and all the players are getting mobbed except Wilson who just looked like a full kit ****** who'd ran on the pitch! BRISTOL86
remember a goal against Sheff Wed away on sky a long time ago, was that him? That's pretty much my only memory of him. That win put us briefly top of the table after about 4 games I think!

Kid in the Riot
That shot at Leicester.... Was that the one that crossed the line? We got battered in that game but somehow got a 0-0!

nickolas
Was that the one that crossed the line? We got battered in that game but somehow got a 0-0! It never crossed the line. A fair scoreline of 10-0 wouldve suited Leicester that day. I just remember Hollowhead doing his nut on the touchline and to the press afterwards. Mint. Eco
He was OK for us, never let the side down chaps. 300+ league games in total would indicate he's had a good career.
somered
Was that the one that crossed the line? We got battered in that game but somehow got a 0-0! That's the one, funny how their manager Holloway never mentioned that when moralising about the Palace "phantom" goal a couple of years later. sodburyred
I was in line, it did. I blew my lid that day. Shite performance it was too! I was in line too and I didn't think it fully went over. Shows how hard it would be for a lino if 2 fans on the goal line can't agree. Remember saying to my mate at half time that there's no way we'll get battered as much 2nd half...I was wrong.

That said, my memory could be clouded by know. All I remember is a sense of utter despair much like when Lampard 'scored' against the Germans in 2010. New Dazzler
God Only Knows how we got to post #27 without a Beach Boys reference. Wouldn't It Be Nice if we could Breakaway from this winless streak and start to Do It Again . With regard to our BW the footballer , he was signed by GJ , along with Kevin Betsie to bolster the promotion squad, was decent but hampered by injury, some Good Vibrations but some mediocre ones too!
