Was reminiscing about songs from our past that don't seem to get sang any more when I remembered the "Tom Thumb song" aka the "doo bee doos" !!!

WHen was the last time anyone sang that one? 2-2 draw vs Newcastle was when I last recall singing it, what a belter!!

Gets an outing most weeks in ee, although not on loudness scale as years gone by

Too many people singing palace, Cardiff and Watford songs

A classic. And one of the few songs in the past that generate a long lasting and loud atmosphere. I miss the doo be doo!!

You've found something that miserable SOD likes?.

I think I am "mistaken," sadly.

But, that song should be our anthem. If only to needle the grumpy git. Booing and all that crap is old hat. Humour, people, let us try humour. So,

"Some things in life are bad

They can really make you mad,

Like fans expecting wins by five or six.

When you're chewing on life's gristle,

Don't grumble, Sean O'Driscoll,

And this helps things turn out for the best

And always....

If life seems jolly rotten

There's something you've forgotten,

And that's to laugh and smile and dance and win,

When you're feelin in the dumps,

Daaaan't be silly chumps...

And, always ....

Forget about our sins

Give us all a win (!)

C'mon Brian, er, Sean, cheer up!"

10, 000 roaring that out? Put a smile on everyone's faces, a spring in our step and maybe a performance that results in that thing that rhymes with sin, grin, tin, gin, ...(not that I'm expecting anything, like. People to sing this, yes, not the other thing)

One I have heard mentioned about the old days don't know if it is still sung.

Sorry if mentioned elsewhere.

1 2 3 4 5 if you want to stay alive keep off the East End.

What about changing EE to Atyeo?

Oh yeah and some song about chasing rovers down Stapleton Road or something.

Well I moved to Bristol in the mid 90s and started travelling regularly to away games a couple of years after that and I remember singing this numerous times since then but not so much in recent times.

Did the whole ground sing songs about the ee or not?

I was allways in the e e not sure what the Park end sung, or the rest of ground apart from c o y r. Also some violent songs . If you were in the e e in the early 70s you will know

the songs.

How about this one for the older one's on here!

I'm not old enough to remember it, but sang it a fair few times natched up :drunk2: with my older mates on some messy away games in the past!

As I was walking down Stapleton Road,
Singing, singing “City are the champions”,
I saw Don Megson lying in the road,
ay-oh, ay-oh,
I said to him “what’s up my friend?”,
He said “the East End’s here again”
Singing, singing “City are the champions”,
Singing, singing “City are the best”.
