Brentford must be shitting themselves that they could be that team.

, or mores the case coming here for a lazy stroll and 3 easy points

im going to stick my neck out and say it will be us on the end of a 5 or 6-0 hiding, i always get it wrong so heres believing that will happen

If anyone's going to get a hiding it's more likely to be us!!

Worrying thing for me is the chances and goals are beginning to dry up. We don't look like scoring at the moment.

3 of the next 4 at home, no hiding place at AG.

law of averages means one day, or night we will hit a purple patch and stick 5 past someone....without conceding 6 at the other end.

so hopefully Brentford are going to get it Tuesday :fingerscrossed:  :fingerscrossed:  :fingerscrossed:  :fingerscrossed:  :fingerscrossed:

With one poxy shot on target yesterday and Baldock carrying an injury, no width and no creativity and a physical side like Brentford on tuesday night, I somehow doubt it, but hey who knows?

I sincerely hope your right, me i'd would have taken a scrappy 1-0 victory yesterday and also on tuesday.

listening to Leroy on the FL Show last night, he commented about our position and that the danger is that the belief will be sucked out of the players the longer we go without a win.

A few weeks back, when so many commented on how well we were playing and just not getting the results, I felt reasonably hopeful. My worry now is that the players become resigned to disappointment and almost start to expect it, lose positivity  and that disappointment becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

Sorry to bang on about it, but postponing two home games, that we had every chance of winning, doesn't look too clever now, does it?

Law of averages doesn't apply in football sorry to say. Wins and losses don't happen on a systematic basis.

That is the law of averages. Wins and losses average out over a long period, but that says nothing about sequences in the short term.

I agree it hasn't helped, but as always that is with the benefit of hindsight.

What if we gone ahead with the home games, and lost key players to injury and were forced to play untried youngsters or even Kilkenny because of the players away on international duty and lost those games?  There would have been a witch hunt against SOD, the board, Uncle Tom Cobbly and all,  for a stupid decision not to postpone the games.  Our league position puts the board and SOD in a no win position (in more ways than one!) over almost every decision being made just now.

Liker so many, I want SOD to succeed, but the longer this  winless streak continues and with us at the foot of the table, the less optimistic I am about his chances of survival. Not because I am an avid SOD lover, but because I just cannot see how yet more upheaval can possibly help, as in my view too much chopping and changing  over the last 4 years is a major cause of our current predicament.

OTIB is now sounding very much like it did as we got towards the end of GJ, Millen and McInness's time, and even though JL said they won't be swayed by the fans opinions, the board have little goodwill in the bank at the moment, so I think the board will act if only to quell the fans unrest and also because I cannot believe the board are prepared to contemplate another relegation. If thy do make the decision, then who the hell is going to want to come here?

If SOD goes, then I really worry for our future.

For those fans calling for Warnock as a replacement I worry for their sanity!

Do you believe in parallel universes?

We both do, yes.

For my part, I can't see us "hammering" anyone, any time soon. My only hope is that we fluke a winner off Baldock's arse in the 90th minute.  Then, we can start to think about the long unbeaten run...

94 managers out of work,  I think the board may have a few replacements in mind,  don't you????

The law of averages is a myth. If you flip a coin 100 times you will not get a distribution of 50 heads and 50 tails because every flip is an independent event and is not influenced by what has happened before. Similarly, every game we play is independent so the fact that we have not won in 20 has no effect on the likelihood of us winning, losing or drawing the next. If you believe in the law of averages your local casino will be delighted to welcome you to the roulette wheel though. :shifty:

the only hiding that may be on the cards-metaphorically of course-will be the manager and board..
