For anyone who's interested, and to keep it up to date:

  • 21 league games without a win (record)
  • 10 home league games without a win (equal record, also set in the 1931/32 season)
  • 18 away league games without a win (record is 23, spanning the 1932/33 and 1933/34 seasons)
  • 14 league games without a clean sheet (record is 49, spanning (you guessed it) the 32/33 and 33/34 seasons)
  • 10 home league games without a clean sheet (record is 25, as above)
  • 7 away league games without a clean sheet (record is 45, spanning the 58/59, 59/60, and 60/61 seasons)

During our infamous clean sheet run last season, we got to 29 overall, 14 home games, and 19 away games.

Purely putting this out there for interest's sake, not to prove a point one way or another.

After all, as I've said before, the two managers who have overseen our most recent record runs of losses had wildly differing success at City (Johnson and McInnes), so it ultimately means very little.

But hey, at least we set a record last night. (Well, matched one.)

Splendid! Good work.

Figured I better keep this up to date, seeing how it's worked out for us today... (not that I'm superstitious or anything..)

  • 1 league game winning "run" (record 14, 1905/06 season)
  • 1 league game unbeaten (record 24, 1905/06 season)
  • 10 home league games without a win (equal record, with 1931/32 season) - it's not all roses yet ;)
  • 1 away league game winning "run" (record 6, 1905/06 season)
  • 1 away league game unbeaten (record 21, 1905/06 season)
  • 15 league games without a clean sheet (record 49, spanning the 1932/33 and 33/34 seasons)
  • 10 home league games without a clean sheet (record is 25, as above)
  • 8 away league games without a clean sheet (record is 45, spanning the 58/59, 59/60, and 60/61 seasons)

Suffice to say, we were pretty darn good in the 1905/06 season.

Also suffice to say, we're not out the woods yet ;) but hey - 6 game winning run away from home? We could totally hit that.

Maybe.

What a difference a year makes.

  • 22 league games without a loss (record 24, 1905/06 season)
  • 15 home league games without a loss (record 25, spanning the 1953/54 and 54/55 seasons)
  • 11 away league games without a loss (record 21, spanning the 1905/06 and 06/07 seasons
  • league game without conceding (record 5, 1996/97 season)
  • home league game without conceding (record 6, 1905/06 season)
  • 4 away league games without a clean sheet (record 45, spanning the 58/59, 59/60, and 60/61 seasons) - think we're safe on this one
  • 13 league games without failing to score (record 25, spanning the 1905/06 and 06/07 seasons)
  • home league games without failing to score (record 37, spanning the 1952/53, 53/54, and 54/55 seasons)
  • 15 away league games without failing to score (record 17, spanning the 1926/27 and 27/28 seasons)

Feels good, dunnit?

13 league games without failing to score (record 25, spanning the 1905/06 and 06/07 seasons)

Good work. Knew there was a reason I hated Orient - would have been closing in on that one otherwise.

Especially seeing as we scored a perfectly legitimate goal.

That being said, it would only improve the run by 4 thanks to Crewe last season, so we'd be on 17.

I was surprised how close we are to the away equivalent.. Score against Swindon and Posh to equal the record, and then it'll be Crewe again to beat it.

Proper bummer.

Still, we've gotta start from somewhere. Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.

Just a thought, on Friday night Posh had Michael Smith and Mackail-Smith playing whilst we had a pair of Smiths playing for us.

I know Rovers had three Jones playing for them in the 60's, but to have four players with (roughly) the same name on the field simultaneously, is this new record?

How many Wilsons did we have under McInnes? We must've played a team with a Wilson or two at some stage??
